    Interesting...

Converting the rear suspension to turret style....i bet this saves quite a bit of weight as well cos you can get rid of the rear beam? Any one seen this before?

depends, you have to come up with an axle design, use coilover units, heavy gauge turrets and bracing (as the floor around that area isnt strong at all) and all sorts of crap that will probably end up the same anyway.

I took this picture of a Megane,on a rally at Swinderby earlier on this year. The turrets and all the work, was done by Harry Hockly Motorsport, the shockers are remote cannister PROFLEX,the front also had PROFLEX on.
Talking with the guy who owned it,he said at on event at MIRA,when the car went over the speed bumps ~~ his teeth chattered ,but with this arrangement it went over the hazard~~ smooth as you like
It still uses the standard beam, although I am sure if needed,A beam axle,as was a mod for the BMC minis for Rallycross could be manufactured.

You'd have to build a subframe to mount the bottom wishbone/track control arm off and seen as you've got to do that it would be as easy just to chop the rear floor out, build a subframe and run it with double wishbones and coilovers.
