replacing middle section what about the lamba sensor

my exaust is blowing from some where iv had the manifold/downpipe gasket changed but its still blowing from somewhere so im planning on going to an exaust place tomorrow to see what they say im hoping its not a split in the manifold
while im there im going to ask how much to make me a centre section to replace the cat and 1st box
but im not sure what i would do with the lamba sensor

i know most ppl say decat is best but will i lose out on low down power ?
still not 100% sold on the decat idea yet

Lambda Sensor lives in the downpipe, so no issues with swapping Cat and Centre section.

try whipping the manifold off, and check the weld where the 4 pipes meet n join into the 1 on the downpipe.........they always crackin the weld here.

as matt says.lambda in downpipe. btw.....if u gettin a de-cat pipe n ctr section, make sure the place fitting it know it will need to have a cat put back on for mot time, otherwise a 1 piece part from d/pipe to backbox wud b a real arse wen u need to fit a cat.

get someone to rev the engine, while u get your hands down there and feel for blowing, you shud feel it quite easy (becareful tho it will be hot!). over time a black soot will also build up.

Since i've put my CAT back on the car definatly has more pick up from low revs, much prefer it that way too. Won't be putting another decat on mine.

stainless midsection with silencer inis £90 fitted at greenwoods.

I had my cat back on, the low down torque is great, but you do lose top end.

makes no difference to me, i paid with pennies i emptied out of my whisky jar.

hooligan that is a bit excessive.

I had my cat welded at both ends with new flanges angled at 45' and 180'
full middle piece and a decent silencer box + free decat so im sure what your having done should be alot less...

Powerflow charged me 80 for a similar mod . or go for a renault mid section.

alternatively you can buy a tig welding unit for £1000 and then the stainless tubing, flanges and a silencer box to go with it.
