    Ball Joints

    How the **** do you seperate them without a seperator?

    Trying to remove the hub and cant cos of these :(

    Where the bolt clapms teh 2 bits of metal that grips the top of the bal joint, drive a big screw driver int ehre to seperate them, hub lifts off then.

    Witrht eh track road arms, loosen nut off, put something under hub to support it and smack the top with a hammer.


    ....or buy a big drive in seperator

    Managed it, lunner you got the part number for the bearing?

    i got them from GSF, he said there was two sizes and gave me the bigger one, which looking at it looks huge compared to the bearing in the hub.

    The part number ive got is 7701 205 779

    There are 2, teh valvers use teh bigger of the 2, RSi's use teh smaller of the 2....even though they ahve 54mm hole spacing

    balls, well i reckon it should be the smaller sized ones, ill go back 2morro morning and get one.

    sweet, forgot to ask when i was in earlier.

    Will sort it out 2morro, also the small ones are cheaper.

    Tekll then before they start ringing it up or they get pissed off and ahve to start again

    well got some new bearings, had one of em fitted (not done the other side yet)

    Just come to tighten them back up and the track rod end ball joint just keeps spinning, really pissing me off as i cant tighten the nut.

    Any tips on how to stop it spinning?

    jack under it with a block of wood on teh jack head, put som pressure on the underside so it pushed the joint inot the hub usually works
