    Major Misfiring!



    Rite on my 1.2 I have a big problem. It was fine...then I decided to replace the distributor cap..(stupid idea). Started up fine drove half way to the next town...bang bang bang, shuder shuder shuder CUT OUT!

    Its one thing after another with this f**king car! Got it home, checked plugs, leads then put me old dcap back on. I thought yay my car starts againg but thrashing it, it works but driving at 3k rpm or less shuder shuder bang bang!

    is the dissy cap on the right way and the right type mate ?

    :( I believe so! I thought that it only fitted one way round? It had a little grove which only went in one way. I wish I never touched it now!

    It was the right type! according to ...halfords...

    I might go to renault to get a new one?!

    just compair the two mate, make sure you got the fireing order right

    you sure you've put the leads back on the correct nodes on the distributer ??

    Yeh, everything was on the rite order? Ive just cleaned up everything fibre brushed the contacts etc and now works? I still think that its the distributor cap as the contacts are about 2mm thick!
