Thanks for the heads up, just saw his posts in the breaking section, seems like the man to contact! :D
Phase one, you know of any knocking around?
Anyone know of any Renault or Clio specialist breakers in the south east?
Cheers!
Should have mentioned these parts are for a Williams, and not for the heap of junk in my avatar!
Afternoon All!
Desperately trying to source cheap/secondhand parts, not willing to pay the crazy prices Reno want...
After the seals that mount to the a-pillar, between door and body, both...
Yeah it fitted in fine, the missus drove and she sits quite far forwards so there was easily enough room. Got the bonnet off eBay and it's in really good nick, might need a spray to get a better...
Thanks guys, much appreciated! Really looking forward to seeing the car looking straight again, it's taken some of the pleasure out of driving the car with dodgy bodywork...might have to see if the...
Managed to source a replacement bonnet for the Willy, and ive done the measurements and I reckon that side on it will fit in the Willy's boot, but I'm not 100% sure and as it's a long way to pick go...
Brand new - still in box, genuine Valeo smoked rear lamp unit for Clio Williams/16v, nearside/passenger side fitment.
£20 incl p&p.
The garage who fitted them (Rentech) got ours from GSF for just under £10 a side, Renault items are around £30 a side iirc.
Picked the Willy up today after having new shockers, top mounts, arb bushes, and as Swervin_Mervin said in the first post - WOW!
What a difference, the car rides and handles so much better,...
The gf's Williams has just been down with Rentech to have new shockers, top mounts, arb bushes, exhaust etc and I cannot recommend them enough! Great friendly service, quality workmanship and very...
Good to hear that fitting the new suspension has worked out for you, ours is going in to be sorted later on this week, can't wait for the results!
We are doing top mounts and shockers as well, but...
Great news! As far as I know then the car is completely std, can't be to many std one's left now...
Nah, the wheels still have the silver lip, need a refurb, but original all the same, it just can't be seen to well in the pics.
The only items I may think may be aftermarket are the clear...
Thanks guys, both cars are much loved by their owners!
The Willy is having quite a bit of work this week (suspension, column, exhaust), really looking forward to taking it for a blast when it...
Finally got round to taking some pictures of the gf's Williams, I thought I should share them with you lot, just so you guys still know it is alive and doing well!
Just gone over 98,000 miles, and...
Maybe they have different prices for us southerners, price I got quoted was £300 plus the vat. Not bad for a custom made ss exhaust, but too much when all we want is a std replacement!
All sorted, managed to find a Williams replacement exhaust from an autofactors for £205 incl vat.
Now I just gotta fit the damn thing!
Well my hunt for a replacement exhaust is not going well. Powerflow want £350 to do a std style cat back system, so I am trying to find out what my other options are.
Quick question for you all,...
New wishbone assy's  This is going to get very expensive!
Had the track rod ends done 18 months ago when we replaced the steering rack.
Thanks for the advice!
I'll give Powerflow and GSF a call on Monday, it's on my list of things to do!
The missus was concerned that welding the column could be dangerous, which is why she...
Agree with you totally, it's the atw figures that count, but as manufacturers quote flywheel figures, these are the ones that people normally want to compare against, it's just annoying that you can...
I found this equation in another forum on the net last night, but it's just another variation of the 20% rule:
117bhp divided by 80% = 1.4625bhp per one percent
1.4625bhp/% multiplied by 100% =...
Hello again all!
As per my recent posts (column welding & exhaust replacement) my g'friends Williams needs a bit of tlc, and she has bitten the bullet and borrowed a bit of cash to get the car...
Get a standard style custom made exhaust for the same money? Sounds good, and like a lot less hassle!
Problem is, the only custom exhaust place I know of near me is Powerflow in Redhill, Surrey...
Thanks for the replies guys, despite your advice Lunner, I think I will have a go myself, just set aside a whole day to get it sorted. Nice one the tips on hangers and the gasket!
I'm sure I'll...
Was trying to get the missus' Williams for a RR day this Saturday, but the exhaust is blowing too badly for it t be worth going on the rollers.
I had been hoping it was just a case of...
Wow, you guys are fast! I need to learn to reply quicker!
I'll drop Jim a PM and see how it goes from there, thanks for the post!
I guess I don't know for sure if it is definitley the column, but through doing a search on this forum and following the advice that has already been posted, and doing some detective work on the car...
