16v and willi's have the same pump have they?

Not 100% but all the clues seem to point towards a knacked pump, it screams like f**k, and I can hear a constant knocking sound, a bit like old tappet noise only louder. Anyhow, if I want to make...

Could anyone give me a step by step of how to change the PAS pump on a willi2? Had a look at it but there seem to be shit loads of other bits on top of it :(, any tricks as well?

At low speeds, i.e. manoeuvering, the PAS screeches like buggery, getting worse on full lock. Any ideas on what part in the rack is on the go?

AFAIK, you need an X25 to set it properly. If you are the patient type, trial and error is an option.

At the start, it takes time for the oil to build up, so, I would say normal. Mine is noisy for more than 10sec, more like 30sec. As for the noise coming back at 5000rpm, it throws me. When I am @ 5K...

I have had this problem too. The thread at the end of the studs are probably shagged. Once replaced it should be a hell of a lot easier!

Wednesday morning I tried to start the willi with no success :cry: . Every symptom pointed out that it had ran out of fuel.

Sure enougth, added 4 litres or so, and the car started normally :D ....

Saw it too about 12h30 on riverside.
