My temp guage on my valver is intermittent. and now my fuel guage has stopped working altogether. Took the clocks out and all the wiring seems fairly ok. don't know what it could be. just wondered if...

valver didn't have a 3/4 size front plate did it?

Right, thanks... where should i be looking from to diagnose this? is it as simple as tightening jubilee clip? or case of new fuel lines/pump?

1) my engine temp gauge is giving no reading, where is the sensor for this? and is it likely to be the sensor causing no reading

2) my oil level gauge only works with the ingnition in position 2...

ah right. will this only leak if running on reserves? or will i need to fix it. car is a J plate. 1992?

Think i have a fuel leak under the car, seems damp on the underside of the car near the fuel tank area, is this common, recall seeing a few valvers on ebay in the past with slight fuel tank leaks,...

I payed £300 for mine. Needed wiring loom sorting (which it now is) and a new starter motor. had 12 months MOT too :)

ill give those a browse over then. Is there any pointers about getting it welded or will it be astraightfrward job for an exhaust place for example?

Now the valver engine is running sweet as a nut (touch wood) but the steering it awful. I assume i need to get the rack welded which is fine but i also noticed when in the pit under the car that if...

I personally would put new fuel in before. injectors are pretty delicate. leaving fuel for long periods is never good. :)

get waxoil from frauds and litrelly paint it on. Its very cheap and applied by brush. a good barrier for anywhere on the underside of the car. just make sure you get it right in the crevices etc....

Shes alive :) when the new engine was fitted some numpty put the fuel pipes on the wrong way round. :)

the earth strap is earthed under the wheelarch and i cleaned the connection yesterday with some wet n dry. Will try this again but would the starter crank if earth was dodgy and would i get a spark?...

nope not even a stutter. Going to try it again after work. ive put the battery on charge to make sure its not that. what should be the voltage from the battery when its turining over?

right tried undoing the 5th injector and turning her over. Still no sign of wanting to fire, the plugs are dry now. Thought it would show some signs of life?

Right, got the new starter motor in and turns over fine now. every plug getting a decent spark but it still isn't firing. Fuel supply appears good as plugs are wet. tried the old 2 stroke trick of...

Nice one mate, ill give this a check tomorrow. when you say the diagram? have you got some exploded views or something?

the starter doesn't crank, whats what im trying to sort at the moment. the power across the battery is 12.6v and the power from earth (ned terminal) to the pos on the starter motor is 12.6v, however...

12.6v. either way there should be some feed to there? Im thinking a relay, which relay is it that controls this? is it located in the car or the bay.

Polished rocker cover would look nice. Factory look is sweet though. paintwork actually looks quite consistent in the bay, unlike my clio.

Right! Just toying with it now, so the flywheel sensor that is between the box and block can see it hovvering over the teeth on the fly right? Just wondering wether i have it hooked up to the right...
