Fab, I'm not stirring anything up here, merely giving my opinion which obviously differs from yours.
Ant, if I were you I would listen to Northy, Mat Brown and Ian Birch, what these chaps don't...

How many people do you know on this site have "restored a williams to concours condition" from the ground up? I can name 1 in 8 years.
And whats this rubbish about a "real enthusiast"? A real...
I disagree, if you have restored one from the ground up to near concourse condition then to a real enthusiast it's well worth the money.
Both ways suck dick tbh, supercharger is very good in my books! :P
^This. Why compromise on power and revs when you can have 300+bhp and over 8'000rpm :)
You make a lot of sense Willant 8)
Sounds like Rob Barrington on a windup as I doubt Renault would word it that way. Sign up on renaultsport.co.uk and speak to Jeremy RUK, he will know if it's real or not.
Value is subjective, but the Williams 1 has the plaque and I personally would pay big money for a mint low mile one, not a 3. It's personal preference, but if it was worth 10k it would have gone...
IMO It's not worth 10k, it's a Williams 3 not a 1. The non standard parts are off putting too.
£7k tops.
You'd certainly see a black flag on track though!
If people cant do it themselves it's better for their ego to just doubt the results.
I would look at the practical option if the Williams is currently your day to day car.
Was that on Chip Wizards RR? Mine did 270bhp there and 230bhp on Pauls for comparison.
Yer but you Carnt compare yours to his. Your cars performance had changed in that time
I had a Magnex backbox on my Williams, it was very loud and boomy, especially on the motorways. The best system I had on there was a Powerflow believe it or not, but there are better systems out...
That was my guess yeah... I could be wrong obviously lol
I'll put a tenner on it being you that's bought it ;)
Sounds good to me, be good to actually get on track there this time
Yup, this car is worth the asking price and then some. Shame you are selling :(
Exactly this, I've never heard of anyone acid dipping and then galvanising one simply because in this day and age it's not worth spending it on a car that's not going to be used as a daily driver. ...
Entirely depends on how you look after the car as to how long repair work will last, it's idiotic to assume a £4k+ restoration will only last 2-3 years. You wont get a shed of a Williams 'mint' for...
As Daz has said, no chance for £2k unfortunately. More like £4k+ and that's cutting corners.
I'd look for a solid body over an engine tbh, it's cheaper to replace the engine than repair the shell. Looking upwards of £2k for just paint alone from a reputable car restoration place, that's not...
I completely disagree, a Williams 1 is worth more than the others for the simple fact it comes with a plaque. To Joe Average maybe they don't know, care or realise, but as these cars are knocking on...
It's a member off here who has re-directed it to here. Welcome to the year 2000...
1. red dash (Williams)
2. p4cks (Williams 3)
3. Jaymzfc (Williams)
4. Tooskive (Williams 1) x2 sets
What Megane parts do you have?
That would depend on the spec of the engine really.
It's entirely dependent on what people use the car for and want out of it. For a track car, handling mods, brakes and sticky rubber will be of more benefit for sure.
Other people are happy with...
Most powerful lightly tuned car on here seems to belong to Jay S, which is 180bhp. As far as RR figures go Dyno Dynamics always seem to be about bang on the money.
...
Not really, you've already said it needs a damper refresh, tyres, brakes and a cambelt change
