Got a tear in my eye now because she's sold now..
Got a tear in my eye now because she's sold now..
Just wondering if anyone had experience of storing a car for years and what preparations should be done first?
Should I drain the fuel and coolant? remove the plugs? stuff like that..
I know...
Could be Haz!
How you doing anyway? it's been years mate!
Bit puzzled that no one has contacted me about this Williams..
Did I price it too cheap and that's putting everyone off!?
Anyway, here's my email and phone numbers.

Sorted! :)
What a pain in the arse job!!
The paracord was a life saver, couldn't have done it without it and your tip about taking the wheel off.
Thank you!
Just failed at the first hurdle, couldn't even get the old cable out!
There's no room to get my hand past the manifold and heatshield to grip the cable and pull it out of the bulkhead.
Tried...
So it was bound to happen and expected it sooner or later.
Sods law dictated that it would happen when I needed to actually be somewhere at a certain time but that's a long story that I won't bore...
Oh well, good for a giggle and a cheap run around for a boy racer.
Spotted this today, it's too far for me to travel otherwise I might have been tempted to bid.
...
That's really cool seeing the advert for my Williams back in 95! thanks for posting it.
L590 MKY is still going, passed its MOT again today first time.
I think it's time to sell though. I just...
That's what I thought as well.
Sills seem ok, no water inside as far as I can tell.
Here's some photos of the scuttle box, before and after removing the drain pipe.
I think I found the problem.
The scuttle box had about an inch of water in the bottom. Took the drain hose off and of course it was all blocked up with gunk. It was also flattened in one section so...
Well, there's no pool of water but the floor carpet is soaked. All the surrounding side carpet is dry however which is a bit weird..
I'd nearly managed to dry it out but it pissed down all day...
Recently noticed water in both footwells of my Williams which has never happened before.
Are the door seals the usual culprits or could it be coming in from somewhere else?
This is a pretty good article about matching paint.
https://www.quora.com/How-does-a-professional-body-shop-paint-shop-get-an-exact-color-match-on-car-paint-repair-when-the-original-paint-has-faded
I don't know how they went about matching the colour to be honest. It's difficult to be sure when you're speaking with the garage boss and not the actual painter.
I know it's not easy though to...
Very useful thanks!
Ok so that proves that there's definitely different variants of 449.
Good, I can show this to the bodyshop now.
Just been on the phone to these guys http://www.carcolourservices.co.uk/ and they have 7 different shades of 449 in their database!!?
Don't know what to do now..
Just went to pick up my Mk1 from the bodyshop, they re-painted the bonnet and rear quarter panel, and was gutted to see that the new paint is a different shade of blue. I wasn't expecting a perfect...
Just had some surprising advice from the girlfriend today..
She said that I should invest some money into it to get it spot on because it's a good investment!
I was floored when she said this!
The lacquer on the bonnet of my Williams started to crack about a month ago and now it's a compete mess. It looks like someone has been ice skating on it! It's really disappointing because I was...
Pretty unanimous then, I'll keep the Williams 1, it's been a great motor so far and never let me down.
Loads more offers on the ebay clio since I posted this thread!
Yeah sorry, should have made that clear. I have a Williams 1 but thinking of buying this Williams 3 on ebay instead.
Seems very cheap doesn't it? too good to be true maybe.
