I'm after a Williams 1 in good condition that has not had a load of paint.
Mileage isn't an issue as long as the history/reciepts show that it has been looked after.
I am VERY fussy but have cash waiting for the right example.

yes i saw that but with the mileage being very low its worth a look.
i know of a gen ren new shell, but i doubt the guy would sell, was bought as a spare direct from renault and been garaged ever since, never used
So the reason for your post was...?Quote:

so a rust free willy 1 on 120k advertised at £4000 wouldnt be a issue ?
Nope, if it was fully serviced and all original paint.

Yep, Obviously theres still the haggling to go through.
Mat.
Mmm interesting, for me i dont mind a bit of paint if i know the history.
Lower mileage the better for me.
with that new shell if you built it up 80% new parts you could register it brand new, 09 reg williams anyone?
i was posting as i thought you may be interested, i wouldnt be able to get him to sell as i dont have the financial clout or willingness to pay as i would guess he would want a bit for it
the idea was to give you a heads up and see if you are interested in a bare shell unpainted or not, if you had expressed interest then i could of researched further, got you contact details etc
that was the point of my post

so what would you rather have.... orginal paint with all orginal bits bearing in mind the thing is 16 years old or a full restore project that has had thousands spent on it..Quote:

I think it is getting to the point where getting a mint untouched (by paint) Williams 1 is a luxury you do not have.
I don't mind buying one with sprayed arches. Sure you may need them doing at some point in the future but whatever happens, painted or not this is most likley to be the conclusion.
Still my favourite pic on the net, well runs a close second to anything with jenna jameson on but hey hoQuote:

It's starting to get a bit awkward when watching TV now, especially if we have guests round, someone ends up sitting on the floor!
