0385 For Sale
Hi all, it’s been a while.
The time has come to sell my car.
Williams Clio No. 0385
As some of you will be aware, it has been “restored” and there are posts on here
with photos detailing some of the work done.
This car has had a huge amount of work done to it both mechanically and body.
I will be finishing detailing the inside in the next week or two as weather permits.
The car has been owned from new by my brother in law who owned it till I agreed to
take it of his hands and undertake the restoration.
It has about 109000 miles on it.
I think it may be better to pm me if you want more details but the car wants for very little.
I am looking for £12k
Would consider a px for a 7 type car. Dax, Caterham, Westy
If you want to ring and chat, you can get me on 07787 517385
The car will have a 12 month mot
Thanks for looking,
Lewis

I was thinking of trying to upload some photos but don't seem to be able to get Photobucket to work.
Any advice??

Just testing to see if I can get Dropbox links to work
Kinda works, any other advice on how to display photos be most welcome.

Below is a response to an enquiry another forum member made about the scope of work.
This was about 6 months ago. Since then the car has done 2 miles.
The summary of work goes something like this:
Mechanical components fitted to get it through Mot plus
parts I wanted fitting just to bring it up to standard.
In no particular order:
Front & Rear calipers, discs, pads, hoses, brake pipes.
New Catalytic converter
Front top strut mountings
Clutch and cable
Alternator and starter motor
Timing belt kit and water pump
Engine core plugs
Silicone hose set
Oil cooler
Battery
Coolant Header Tank
Reman power rack and power steer pipes
Powerflex wishbone bushes
Full engine service to include oil filter, fuel filter, air filter,
Spark plugs,
Oil pressure switch
Fan belt
Off the top of my head that covers most of the mechanicals.
The file showing what was purchased and fitted is at work and I'm now at home and not due back till Friday.
Body wise, again extensive.
Inner and outer sills replaced.
Rear arches were solid with no rust so were stripped and cleaned and made ready for a full respray.
Drivers door had been crow barred so sourced another and was fitted.
New Bonnet (genuine Renault)
New headlights
New fog lights
New front indicator lenses
New bonnet and light strips fitted
New (Williams) sill cover stickers fitted (£80 each)
Full respray
New windscreen
Engine and all front suspension removed to best repaint all engine bay and inner wings, bulk head etc
Engine block acid etched and painted
Gearbox same
All transmission parts (driveshafts etc) stripped, painted and rebuilt.
Same goes for all suspension parts including a full refurb of front subframe and powder coating
Many components powder coated to include timing belt cover, plenum chamber, rocker cover plus more
New Spark Plug Cover
New Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser fitted
New Tyres
New Bluetooth Head Unit (Pioneer I think)
I think that's most of it but doubtless I've forgotten some stuff.
I have quite a lot of photos and can probably make them available for you to look at via Photobucket.
The car was supplied new to my brother in law as his company car. It was maintained regardless of cost. I believe it has full dealer service stamps up to around 60,000 or so from memory.
Unfortunately, all receipts for work carried out in it's company owned years are probably still within that companies archives or more likely binned.
After it was owned by the company, my bro-in law bought it from them and ran it as his own till around 2006 when he took it off the road for future plans. Never got round to them and rather than scrap it, I took it on. If I'd only known the work and cost I probably wouldn't have bothered.
Having said that, it could of been done easier and cheaper but my OCD won't allow it 😉
Hope that gives you a flavour.
The only bit not lavished in attention and money is the interior. It's all there and pretty sound. Small tear in drivers seat. Odd carpet stain and slightly faded plastics on lower door cards.
Has a superb 90's sound system with Focal Labs sub and 6 x9's and component fronts with separate amp.
Sounds superb.

Cheers Ian, unfortunately I don’t see an option to select “basic uploader “ at the bottom of the Insert image window.
Presumably links to Photobucket no longer work. ?.?

Wankbucket disabled direct image linking quite some time ago... when you click on the image uploader basic uploader should be in the bottom right corner of the window that pops up...if it isn't try clicking on From Computer
in the top left and maybe Choose File will appear.

Just back from Mot, sailed through with a little wriggling over emissions.
