basically i have a big thread about it on cliosport so if you wouldnt mind reading it there and seeing what you think!

check the post 25 especilly as know im not sure if it is the clutch or the pedal mechanism!
i'd say your clutch has gone
didn't it have a new clutch with the recon gearbox..

the relase bearing is part of the clutch? what do u mean? am i just being dumb?
the release bearing slides on the input shaft. tThe clutch plate is in side the clutch cover
