Power steering whine

Hi All,

Recently bought a Williams 2 (last reg letters PDA) and whilst it's in fantastic condition with just over 79k miles on the clock, I'm experiencing some serious power steering whine, and not just when on full lock. It generally only happens steering at low speeds, and when on full lock it goes from a whine to a squeak, like a squeaking cam belt.

The chap I've bought it off has said he's had the pump off and replaced the fluid recently and has just put it down to the fact that it's a fairly old hydraulic system.

Is it worth getting it checked out or should I just put up with it? I'm not used to driving 90s french hatches so maybe I'm just being overly sensitive.

Any advice/thoughts much appreciated
