Gonna get one but a guess of 350 kg in weight is a bugger to lift on the stand. Box of first then manifolds etc then will be a tad lighter

Yea, you need to get the gearbox off first, but thats a nice easy "One man job"
You can actually mount an engine onto a stand without a hoist, I was struggling to get the engine mounted properly and then found this youtube clip with a guy in USA showing how he mounts a cast iron block V8 onto a stand, with no hoist, on his own.
After watching that it was a piece of piss...
More stripping pics ooooer

On a plus note the exhaust manafold came off with nothing snapping, just a couple of small snapped bolts on cable clips quite surprised really, need a set of flared spanners to get steering rack disconnected got one more driveshaft to remove then speedo cable and box should be all but ready to come off
Great progress. The end cap on the gear box is available from renault, not mega money either. Mine went porous
Cheers for that. Mine has a dent in it
Shes fighting me all the way today, cant get fuel rail out cant remove injector connectors so got inlet manifold undone that was a bugger, now that wont comeoff because the power steering pumps in the way grr. No pics today

Sunday frame fitted and car back in storage till the next phase in April. On with engine strip
Bloody spelling. Sunday = subframe
looking great Graham, lots of new painted parts!
I jope that you have had the last of the snapped and siezed bolts now :-)
are they taking the subframe off again to paint the engine bay / chassis rails?
