Last night i sold my clio to some guy from wales. Had agreed on a price of £1,800. Met up with him at 6.30 at the services in oxford, what a long night it was goin to be.
He took it for a drive round the car park and started asking about the whining that was coming from the steering when you turned left and right! Anyway he got out and got on the phone to his dad ( who knows a few things about cars apperently) and played these noises down the phone to him. This went on for about 30mins. He then got off the phone and said that he wasnt sure if he was goin to buy it as he thought that the hydrolic pistons had gone or the washers had broken off the pump!!! ( i personally think he was talking out of his ass, as i know full well that the power steering pump had gone). So he got back on the phone to his old man and was chatting for another half hour about this steering, (ive had this car for 3 years and it never caused me any problems to sort the noise out).
He then comes back to me with an offer of £1,650 ( saying that he needed the rest of the money to sort the steering out). So in the end we got to a price of £1,700, which i thought wasnt a bad price, considering it had 106,000 miles on the clock, slight rust on rear arch etc.
So now ive lost my pride and joy to a taff, £100, and a sweet sound system. I must have mug written on my forhead!!
If anyone was wondering whos car this was it was Paul marshall's from sheffield!!!!
So guys and gals wot do you think i should buy next?
