I use washing up liquid to wash it  coz im a tight arse, and the paintwork really needs a respray in parts so im not overly bothered!

TBH it comes up really well using washing up liquid, and gives a nice shine, and makes water droplets form when its raining like after a wax.

When i can be arsed i wax with turtle wax!

For minty paintwork i have no idea mate....

(perhaps better to ask over on CS where they spend more time washing/waxing * than driving!)

*their legs that is! lol

Doesn't washing up liquid contain salt???

Yeah stew washing up liquid has salt in it which is not good for paint work, anyway your off at the moment, get out there and get waxing and polishing :!:

im not overly bothered if it does tho, as it gets properly washed off!

Mite need to invest in some proper car wash stuff again then!

I would get out there and wash and wax it if it were dry for long enough!

the sun is out just now, but im dubious of how long it is gonna last!

mite get out there, slap the white wheels on, lower the rear slightly, give it a "morning fresh!", and maybe a wax!

dont hold ur breath!

stage 1 meguiars softwash shampoo - coz it smells like something i used to eat when i was a kid, mighta been marzipan

Stage 2 meguiars paint cleaner - smells like white spirit so it must be good

stage 3 meguiars Gold Wax or Tech Wax

Cannot beat it, gives a really deep swirl free shine, might hit the clio l8r and post sum pix up

Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine polish and then Meguires tech wax afterwards

not much point in this mate, extra effort for very little if any extra results

very similar products so either one or the other would be best, or if you want to use 2, use a paint prep product then either UDS or NXT

the salt in washing up liquid will rust your car and strip any wax you did have on, straight off

i use Meguiars NXT shampoo with a Meguiars lambswool wash mitt

for wax it depends what i feel like using at the time

if its shine i want ill probably use NXT, if its winter protection i want ill use Collinite #476s which still gives a good shine actually

pretty sure on the pic below i used Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze, then NXT, then Collinite........this was for FCS, normally i wouldnt spend so much time on it

I use

Zymol car shapoo - available from most car places ie halfords etc

Sonus sfx-2 enhance polish
sonus sfx-finish polish
meguirs NXT wax
P21 pure wax available from some places but all harley davidson shops labbelled as P100.

Richys willaims after a good clean

http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/PA020017.JPG

But im a cleaning freak with cars id honestly suggest

Zymol car shampoo
Autoglym Ultra deep shine ( or mix about 50/50 autoglym super resin and Extra Gloss protection)
NXT wax, DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS Apply the wax very thinly and leave on the car for about 20-30 mins out of direct sunlight then remove, Dont worry it still glides off, it just cures 10 times beter.
Then if you wanna splash out layer the P100 over the NXT wax for a real deep shine.

These results ( http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11551) were achieved in around 2 hours, remember its the polishing that makes a car look good a wax just seals it!!
