Right going to give the williams its first proper wash, what products do you guys use for giving the paint work a good shine after washing?
thanks
colin
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine polish and then Meguires tech wax afterwards
I use washing up liquid to wash it  coz im a tight arse, and the paintwork really needs a respray in parts so im not overly bothered!
TBH it comes up really well using washing up liquid, and gives a nice shine, and makes water droplets form when its raining like after a wax.
When i can be arsed i wax with turtle wax!
For minty paintwork i have no idea mate....
(perhaps better to ask over on CS where they spend more time washing/waxing * than driving!)
*their legs that is! lol
Doesn't washing up liquid contain salt???

Yeah stew washing up liquid has salt in it which is not good for paint work, anyway your off at the moment, get out there and get waxing and polishing :!:
LOL
dont think so no! (never tasted it tbh! )
im not overly bothered if it does tho, as it gets properly washed off!
id recommend morning fresh - zesty lemon - thats what im using (stealing off mum) at the moment!!! :P :P

Mite need to invest in some proper car wash stuff again then!
I would get out there and wash and wax it if it were dry for long enough!

Shouldn't of left edinburgh then, the sun is shining 8).
I am starting my car cleaning task once ive eaten.
the sun is out just now, but im dubious of how long it is gonna last!
mite get out there, slap the white wheels on, lower the rear slightly, give it a "morning fresh!", and maybe a wax!
dont hold ur breath!
stage 1 meguiars softwash shampoo - coz it smells like something i used to eat when i was a kid, mighta been marzipan
Stage 2 meguiars paint cleaner - smells like white spirit so it must be good
stage 3 meguiars Gold Wax or Tech Wax
Cannot beat it, gives a really deep swirl free shine, might hit the clio l8r and post sum pix up

had a look at some stuff at halfords, meguiars is a rip
Shampoo - Triplewax (gives loads of bubbles.
Autoglym hydra blade to remove excess water
Autoglym synthetic chamois
Wheels - Wonder wheels, then polish with Autoglym super resin (red label)
Polish - Autoglym super deep shine (black label)
Glass/lights - Autoglym glass polish on windscreen, super resin on the rest
Then use autoglym supergloss (gold label)
Black trim - Autoglym bumper gel.
Interior plastics - Autoglym interior and exterior plastic stuff (yellow label)
Metal polish - Autosol.
Seats turtle wax upholstry cleaner
I use Meguires applicator pads for all products and Autoglym terry towel clothes for paint and wheels and normal mussling for black trim and interior plastics.
bucket and sponge and a hose, job done!
well for the winter neway!
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine polish and then Meguires tech wax afterwards
not much point in this mate, extra effort for very little if any extra results
very similar products so either one or the other would be best, or if you want to use 2, use a paint prep product then either UDS or NXT
I use washing up liquid to wash it  coz im a tight arse, and the paintwork really needs a respray in parts so im not overly bothered!
the salt in washing up liquid will rust your car and strip any wax you did have on, straight off
had a look at some stuff at halfords, meguiars is a rip
if you wanna use shite, pay cheap prices, if you want the best, pay for it
i use Meguiars NXT shampoo with a Meguiars lambswool wash mitt
for wax it depends what i feel like using at the time
if its shine i want ill probably use NXT, if its winter protection i want ill use Collinite #476s which still gives a good shine actually
pretty sure on the pic below i used Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze, then NXT, then Collinite........this was for FCS, normally i wouldnt spend so much time on it

I use
Zymol car shapoo - available from most car places ie halfords etc
Sonus sfx-2 enhance polish
sonus sfx-finish polish
meguirs NXT wax
P21 pure wax available from some places but all harley davidson shops labbelled as P100.
Richys willaims after a good clean
http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/PA020017.JPG
But im a cleaning freak with cars id honestly suggest
Zymol car shampoo
Autoglym Ultra deep shine ( or mix about 50/50 autoglym super resin and Extra Gloss protection)
NXT wax, DO NOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS Apply the wax very thinly and leave on the car for about 20-30 mins out of direct sunlight then remove, Dont worry it still glides off, it just cures 10 times beter.
Then if you wanna splash out layer the P100 over the NXT wax for a real deep shine.
These results ( http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11551) were achieved in around 2 hours, remember its the polishing that makes a car look good a wax just seals it!!
I think its time you did Richys car again Steve, was a funny grey colour at HillPower RR day, LOL

Edited b4 sounding sad :)
Just dont use sponges or chamois, use 2 buckets, wash mitt and a water magnet
Not too arsed what shampoo I use, just make sure I use Meguirs wax for the final thing, looks the dogs nuts. Then use tyre spray from pound land for tyres and black trim and chamois the windows, jobs a goodun!
