hey, just joined this forum....just got me first clio
anyways, the other day, my tank was pretty much empty and i wasnt getting paid for a week or so, so i only put a tenner of petrol in.....petrol gauge went up to around the 1/4tank mark, but when i went driving last nite, the petrol gauge was right at the bottom.....right on top of the "R", and hasnt moved since, which is annoying, as no petrol lights come on, and there is petrol in there.....anyone know a reason why this might of happened?????
thanks :)

Clio petrol guages are wierd things

Due to teh shape of the tank teh gauge goes down faster for the last 1/2 a tank.

When you start up gauge will read quite low, get onto the the motorway and it will go up atleast 1/4 of a tank

oh sweet, so theres not much chance of it running out just yet, was quite shocked as i got told clios have decent fuel consumption, nearly cried when i thought driving about 600metres cost me a tenner lol

time to fill up is when the light comes on, then sensible driving you have atleast 15-25 miles

yea thats what i would normally do, but the light is still yet to come on, and the gauge sits either just below the R or right on it, you thought it would have come on when it gets close to R

The last 1/4 tank always seems to go uber quick, and usuallt gets to the R very quickly.

and im not sure if my petrol warning light works, havent let it get "too" low. Guna have to get a jerry can and let the car run right to the end and see if it comes on.
