View Full Version : Tyre Prices
just noticed that we are quite cheap for tyres at work
for example
195/50/15 Toyo T1-S - £31.......thats even cheaper than MyTyres !
call into your local branch if you need any prices (Motor World)
can you price 235 30 18,s toyos mate
yea but what if i want you to deliver them to my door like mytyres?
That is cheap!
To think i coughed up 51quid per corner for 14s at the weekend instead of that is annoying to say the least... :(
T1-S are the OLD toyos.....t1-R's are NEW ones, make sure we are on about same tyres here
T1-S's are fine tho. Just a slightly different tread pattern. and obviously older.
I bought T1-S's over T1-R's just coz they were cheaper. think the S is a softer compound tho! :(
brun, can you do us a quote for some toyo's in 195/45/15 for all 4 fitted?
Cheers
Danny
Thats not bad but Demon tweeks sell them fitted new valves and ballanced for £33.
I hate them as tyres though absolutly terribale.

I've found them alright in the dry and they do hang on half decently in the wet as long as you are progressive with the steering and braking. :)
If you start chucking it around then you may as well be wearing ice skates :?
Think I'll be going back to F1's, though I'm tempted to try the PE2's, but the high sidewalls might be a bit pants...

no, T1-R are the old ones, T1-S are the new ones
*edit* ignore me.......im tired, the R is the newer tyre
Yeah sure the T1-S's are the old tyre??
Is that £31 fitted???....if not how much fitted please Brun if u could find out.
Wheelbase do them at £37.50 inc next day delivery which is good going I reckon.
lol, oops, got my R and S mixed up
T1-S's are the old tyre, apparent;ly the T1-R's are better in the wet.
In the dry the T1-R's are awesome, just keep on gripping, only managed to get mine to squeel once on the road, and never got it sliding.
In the damp they take ages to get up to temp, and up to that point they are wank, but once warmed up they are ok.
In the wet i haven't had any problems with them, althoguh to be fair i haven't really pushed them, but i would say they are comparable to the rainsports in the wet.
Alot if it is are they suited to driving style, suspension set up, and are you running correct pressures, not book pressures, but correct pressures for your driving style etc

I need new front tyres very soon, not sure what to go for, i have tryed;
Yoko A539's...Thought they were good in dry but poor in wet
Rainsports......Not as good as the A539's in dry but better in wet.
Tigars............Only bought for motorway use, omg avoid at all costs
P 6000...........Very expensive at the time and not much better than A539's
Potenza RE 720...Crap
Yoko A048's...Used for racing, the ultimate road tyre.
My friend swears by Michelin Pilot EXALTO PE2, anyone ever used these, what did you think?
col
i think i pay bout £24 per tyre for mine... and of course get them fitted free! oooh i love my mums garage! but they are cheap.... kwik fit charge bout 40 odd quid dont they...
I've head good things about the Michelin Pilot EXALTO PE2 as well. Never used them however, and have a feeling they are kinda expensive.
Currently i use :
Toyo T1 - S 195/50/15 - Very good in the dry. Wet is ok. Damp = poor! Very soft rubber compound giving the good grip in the dry. Wear very quickly! Cheapish at around 35quid a tyre.
Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS 3 - Excellent in the dry. Wet is good, better than Toyo. Damp = ok, suprisingly good grip! Dont wear so quickly as the Toyo's but are slightly more expensive.
Id recommend Goodyear all day any day, but the toyo's are damn good for the price!
I next wana get some Yokohama Advan Semi-slicks for 1/4miling and track use. Cant afford "another" set of wheels and tyres right now tho!

Think ill get some Michelin Pilot EXALTO PE2 before crail, they are expensive but i like going round corners fast so it might be worth it.
Stew yoko advans are unreal, the first time i used A048R's i couldn't believe the grip, they are worth 3 seconds a lap round kames which is a tiny circuit, over a normal high performance road tyre eagle F1's for example. Dont expect them to do many miles though

sweet!
ill be back onto using the Toyo's for crail i think. Swapping back to my willy wheels should save me a little bit in unsprung weight!
PE2's are not expensive if you go to CostCo for them
ive got them on the back of mine and its what ill be getting for the fronts, they are very very good
