ive never been able to buy a car and sell it for more or anywhere near what i paid, irrespective time scale. im always dubious of ppl selling a car after purchasing what in ur case an average of 5/6days!?!

matt uk
24-03-2006, 22:43
well im just honest
i tell them straight im making money

ask holl i didnt lie i told her what i paid straight up but she still got a good deal

just cause i paid £1250 for the wiliams doesnt mean im gonna sell it anyone else at that price..

i do alot of watching on ebay and forums and snap up cars straight away if there cheap

i've had 3 valvers of cliosport and here in the forsale section and they were on my driveway within 24 hours

its a matter of being quick off mark and taking a risk!

i've lost $$$$ on cars to you know lol

that williams was in plymouth 270miles from me

i jumped on a coach one way and risked going down turned out to be a bargin!

if it was a nail, something wrong with it etc i'd have been stranded with a huge train fair bill back home and a daily loss of aprox £200 travelling expense...

depends on how you look at it really ;)

Jamie.
24-03-2006, 22:44
didnt mean anything acondesending, just a bit of jokey piss taking tbh.

matt uk

"The Swift GTi also featured all wheel disc brakes. The JDM Cultus GTi featured a G13B engine that had higher compression pistons (11:1 compression ratio), tubular exhaust headers, a tubular intake manifold, larger camshafts and a reprogrammed ECU. Some models of the Cultus GTi were also available with all-wheel drive. The engine in the Cultus had a power output of 115 hp (86 kW) capable of an estimated 0-100 km (62mph) sprint time of 6.9 seconds.

lovelly! 8)

Zollo
24-03-2006, 23:31
larger camshafts

How does that work? :?

matt uk
24-03-2006, 23:39
dunno mate i just copied and pasted it

all i know is its a 1.3 n/a engine and it gonna give the williams a good run:)

(on the straights)

backroads arent included in this cause it'll be inthe first hedge lol

I quite like them. Brings back memories. They were quite the rage in asia/australia in the eighties and early nineties. A pocket rocket that you could buy with your lunch money. Though 7 secs acceleration would have needed much work done to the engine. The regular ones were more like 8 point something. Have to rev like crazy as the torque is pretty thin below 4k. Understeers everywhere with rock hard suspension. Not a patch on the Clio, except for they don't break down. :D

matt uk
25-03-2006, 00:19
well ive never driven a cultus one but i know my old swift gti uk version wholloped my mate valver to 100 from standstill and i had a only a delimiter chip and zorst/filter plus back seats and spare wheel out

hi valver has zorst and decat and i beat him by a good 3 car lengths

i'm first to admit they arent great at handling and getting tractionof the mark can be hard but i'm confident it would keep with a williams to 80-90 if its gonns be quicker than my white one

good point on the reliability tho i'll show you a under bonnet pic there loadsa room!

they have forged crank and pistons to tha g13b engine is ****in bulletproof

i absoluty ragged my old one 9k revs+ and it never let me down

I had a doo with a Swift in my modded 205 and there was nothing in it. I was upset! Definately quick little cars

matt uk
25-03-2006, 01:01
was it a 1.6 or a 1.9

i have raced a 1.6 205 in my old swift and left it easy enough

heard the 1.9's can be quick tho

Zollo
25-03-2006, 01:03
It was a 1.9 with cams n headwork, plus zorst n induction kit. But it had a load of stereo in it

205s aren't that quick tbh, just masses of fun 8)

Just realised it, mattUK.

You had the Pulsar GTI and Suzuki GTI. When you getting the Daihatsu Charade GTti and 81' modded RWD Starlet (I really, really want a rwd starlet right now) to complete the ensemble of big, bad asian hot hatches of the eighties/nineties?? :D :D

{as I put on my reading glasses and spin some ELO vinyls}

matt uk
25-03-2006, 01:09
that should have been fast then!

people do underestimate the swifts

its just the fact there so light

their practically 140bhp/ton when you consider they weigh 750kg

i've owned a lot of the "hot hatch" cars and i still respectt he swift gti more than any other i have ever driven when you consider this is a 1298cc engine the size of a 14inch tv 8)

matt uk
25-03-2006, 01:14
LMAO ive had a gtti !! 2 infact but one didnt work!
and the 1.6 gsxi charade de tomasso 135bhp

had a automatic starlet gt which i got on a swap with the clio 16v i bought of here with no mot back in early 05

swapped starlet for a civic vti next day

starlet was a nail engine tappets were noisy misfired high up in rev range just knew i could swap it for the civic vti

lol theres only pug 1.9 gti and mazda 323 gtr 4x4 i havent had out the hot hatchs i think

Northy, I think we need to ban matt Uk. He giving me ideas that won't be good for the wallet. Either that, or give him his own section "Look what car mattUK bought today".

Damn you, mattUK.

{now where's the classic car classifieds? as "Rockaria" plays on the tannoy}

matt uk
25-03-2006, 01:33
lol

its just become a kind of hobby

like anyone id still like just one car that i'm happy with!

i really like my black cliobut things just break on the damn thing and its such **&&^£$%£$£(£((£(£**&£*^ to work on!

just wish i could go up the scale a bit and do the same with ferrari's and evo's and sklines

now that would be nice!

matt uk
25-03-2006, 01:46
i'd recommend anyone to try it

example! its like gamblimg you have to know when to stop and not get greedy!

end of the day the cars i gamble with are worth between £100 and £2000

what the worst that can happen, something blows up and you stick it on ebay and make back 60% of your money as spares or repair.

im 23 and owned allsorts now and its not cost me a penny in the long run

i mean look at this in a matter of weeks/days

started £290 for a m reg clio no tax/test

put it thru test after getting steering welded

swapped for a starlet gt turbo automatic within 4 days on ebay!

swapped that next day for a balck p reg civic vti with cat D rear end damage

got a l reg corsa gsi plus £500 cash for the civic vti by someone who was doing up his civic ESi and wanted vti lump etc.

sold corsa for £1100 cash and a dolpin stereo to some chav in free ads the follwing saturday. that same saturday bought a swift gti no mot in free ads for £300 ,mot'd it for £60 needed few things

stereo went to my mate for £100

swapped £1500 +swift gti for my first pulsar.

so at this point the pulsar stands me at very little!

2 days afetr nailing around in pulsar oil pump fails.... ****ED

sold for £1000 spares or repair on ebay within few days

bought back old swift for £450

now that was a interesting week, but i should have stopped went i had the swift gti and £1100 cash :(

lost £1k on that pulsar! in a matter of 2-3 weeks all that hard work for nothing!

but **** it you only live once! 8)

Scott-16v!

Dam right mate, do it while you can :D
