Picked up my H&R coilovers today for the williams. Was expecting to get the two front coilover struts and two uprated rear dampers, but found out I only have the two front coilover struts. Is this correct do H&R not provide rear uprated dampers?

If they dont were can I buy some uprated rear dampers from seperately? and what do people recomend? I already have K-Tec ultimate shocks and springs that came with rear dampers, will be these be good enough?

Thanks

Adi

dont see why not mate!

but seems stange that you only got front stuff. youll need to wait till someone who has them comes online.

When I looked at H&R they do 2 versions, 1 with coilovers at front and other I think was more expensive again with normal rear shocks.

Was 3 years ago and might be that they only do the fronts now as that is the only coilover part.

Ended up going for FK's.

According to HR they are using up-side-down dampers,
which most propably means Bilstein.
So I would suggest to go for some new rear Bs to match your coilovers,
but first check how they do with your Ultimate rear dampers

Yeah contacted a few companies and the H&R's only come with front struts. So i think im going to invest in some new rear dampers. Question now which ones will best match the fronts. I might go for Bilstein if i can find some.

That should be easy to get -> http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame-detail.asp?PAGE=/piper-cams.htm

If you have recently changed to Ultimate dampers don't change them
until you try them with the HRs

The ultimate shocks and springs have been on for about 2 years now. Ive had the car for a year. Might give it ago with them on the rear first see how it is. Are the valver rear dampers the same as the williams?

Valver and williams rear dampers are the same.
If you had them for 2 years they might be worn
and wont be able to keep up with the HR,
making the car "difficult"

Check the code that you delivered,
was it 29963-1 ?
There is a note on valver coilovers that are delivered w/o rear dampers
but not on the williams ones...

P.S. do you have any photos? :P

Yeah think im going to get some bilstein rear dampers as there only £160 ish for the pair. The part number was the same as you quoted and ive checked several companies now all confirming there for front coilovers only with no rear dampers.

There not on the car yet but will take some photos of them tomorrow. Will also take some before and after shots when fitting them.
