Right on this bottom end (F7R 714) the oil pump runs off a chain, so the rear bottom toothed pulley (for the cambelt) is just an idler pulley.

Can anyone tell me the renault part number for this pulley, or the part number for the cambelt kit that includes this pulley (should include 3 pulleys if its a kit).

Its off an R reg 1998 megane 2.0 16v.

The engine is stamped 1998.

That pulley shouldn't need replacing.

You sure mate? I'd rather replace it now than find out in 10k I have to have the engine out to replace it :D

Does it not come as part of the megane 714 cambelt kit?

does this have a bearing built in . on mine it drives the oil pump and has bearings in the block. if this has a bearing built in i,d change it also as well as the other two . no idea on price though

yes its got bearings built in... the plate you see in the pic is just a mounting plate. it doesn't drive anything.

for the late megane engines they do run the F4R type oilpump, so the original oilpump drive is replaced with an idler on a plate.

Matt, i'm not 100% sure but i think the part number for the whole idler assembly is 7700875307, as this costs 42.90 + vat, and iirc i paid about £50 for the idler asembly. The number you listed might just be the pulley itself for the old shaft drive oil pump?

The number is quoted was what came up when i put his part number in, presumed it had been superceded.

On the last 714 i had, i went to renault to get that bit, and it wasnt listed?! he told me i was mistaken, and that the F7R 714 DIDNT have an idler there.....so i took the damn block round just to prove him wrong!
