^lol
Conditions were better than January  Wasn't icy at all, just very cold and windy.

Sad thing is i don't think i'd ever be able to get much less than a 16.5 in it, there just wasn't anymore to give imo, maybe if i perfected the starts who knows. :-s . It was stripped of the rear interior at that.

Gavs best was a 16.060 @ 86.20 mph, he only got three runs in though as he had to leave early. That was with full leather interior and a boot full of crap

It looks to me by your 60ft times you were having traction issues.

Martin
19-03-2006, 23:07
aye traction still looks to be pish should be getting 2.3 60ft times really....2.2s if you perfect the launch. That carrys over to the rest of the run you will be able to do 15.9/16.0 with a good start.

Don't understand what they've done to the strip at pod it's wack! Much more grip on a normal road! lol Apparantly Shakesspeare County Raceway is supposed to be quiet and pretty good so I might try that this year...

19-03-2006, 23:14
what sort of revs should i be lauching at? i was doing it around 3k rpm, then it was spinning in 1st and 2nd :?

lol yeah waiting was a bitch, especially after you went it took 1hr 25mins for the next run  After that it emptied out quite a bit though and we were going straight round :D

Gav
19-03-2006, 23:15
i took scotts advice and launched at 3k revs and still spun like mad

lol true, for the benefit of the others i will tell the story
i was sat in Watford Gap services and got a phonecall,
"my car wont start"
where are you gav?
"i don't know, middle of ****in nowhere, a14 i think in a service station"
Ok i'll come find you.

lol, so being the handy person that i am i got the map out and found where he was and offered the use of my jump leads i happened to have in the car  so i had to go down to jct 16, come back round the island, back up to jct 19, onto the m6, go up there until there was an island, then head back towards the a14 and did a further 20 miles on that

then neither of us knew how to connect the jumpleads   but a qucik phonecall sorted that :P
anyway we got there in the end

Martin

I'm hoping to get to pod in next few weeks. Hope traction problems are only weather related.

Scott-16v!
19-03-2006, 23:36
lol i knew what they did, but it was sparking in my face, was connecting the + and -- to gavs car first  instead of the negative to both then positive to both

yeah you can tell the difference on the vids martin, was the first one at the rtoc national day? i was there but didn't take my sodding license

i don't think the traction problems were completely weather related today tbh big hp

Twas.. RTOC was the shizzle 8).. you really blew it forgetting the old license

tbh Hp I would'nt bother if you want half decent times it been shit every rwyb this year...even if it was roasting hot still would'nt be good grip imo

The Pods shit at the minute because the proper drag racing season hasn't started yet so there won't be as much rubber on the track. Also they put grip fluid on it when the proper cars are racing.

Shakespear County Raceway is really good I enjoy racing there more than at the Pod.

See ya

Mate, do you know how much is it to run at the Shakespeare County Raceway, and how much is it to get in? I fancy having a go here, as i've also heard it doesn't get as busy as the pod.

No idea mate never been to a RWYB there only raced at the national meetings. Would've thought it'll be comparable to the Pod.

See ya
