Serves me right I spose for going to the immigrant car wash. They must use acid cleaner. The diamond cut lip has like a mayo looking colour in patches under the laquer. Must've got under the laquer and corroded the alloy a bit.

So I need to find somewhere that can recut the lip. Does anyone know of anywhere?

Unlucky fella. Shouldn't cost too much just to get lip re-cut.

Don't car about the cost tbh. The cut lip is worth having over the polished one imo. I thought most re-furbers just did polished y'see?

i didnt think the lip was lacquered ?

Mer Wheel Wax is actually quite good at removing marks from 'metal' wheels that have been left by acid wheel cleaners

Mine are laquered Brun. Presumably this Mer won't work if it's under the laquer?

Fred leaves his rims just cut back - I believe the logic behind it is that the lacquer has nothing to 'grip' on a diamond cut rim as it's just smooth metal basically, therefore isn't very long lasting. By just cutting the rim back you can just polish it up once in a while.

I would do that but I'm too worried about losing the cut lines.
