Hi my clio 1.8 16v on a 92 plate wont start, what happens is the car will turn over and fuel pump is going but it wont fire up. im getting no spark to the king lead on the coil so i changed the plugs, leads, cap and rotor arm and coil and still nothing any ideas people

you tryed the imobleizer you changed eveything else .. do you get a light flashing on the dash when your starting it?

sounds odd this

also is it turning over fast or slow?

Hi mate thanks for reply, the car is turning over fast and healthy and i dont have a flashing light or some sort on my dash but i think its down to the clifford concept 300 alarm but i dont know yet.

Could be a simple case of weak battery. Try jumper cable to another car battery and see if that works.

Ive put the the battery on a triccle charge and the charger showed ready and maintaining and i got a green light on the battery itself. Thanks for the replys people much appreciated

did you just change the coil or did you also change the thing it plugs in to, think it called the ignition amplifer? got 2 plugs on it??

Hey thanks for the replys, the coil was brand new and that didnt work but i havent changed the ignition amplifier yet plus its canny expensive :( but if i know if its the amplifier il get the part.

i can post you one if you want mate that i know works

problem is that one of the bolts that you put through the coil to secure it to the amplifier is snapped inside it, but, the coil does bolt on ok with just the one securing it, and it would defintiely be ok just to test

you would have to cover the postage though lol (£2), as im on the bones of my arse this month when it comes to finances

Woo hoo i got my car going and its been perfect fingers crossed all i did was unplug the ecu and took it in my house to dry out any damp or anything and put my battery on a triccle charge for a night. plugged everything up the next morning and it fired up also i disconnected my injector underneath the inlet manifold which i think doesnt even work anyway 8)
