View Full Version : which coilovers....
im getting coilovers for when the widetrack is fitted and not sure on what to go for, i was thinking about h&r but when i spoke to nick at hillpower today he suggested i try jr coilovers as he found these to work the best, can also get them for a very good price imo £350 inc vat for the jr or £550 inc vat for the h&r's, do i let that price diff cloud my judgement?? think winston ran jr coilovers on his widetrack, if you read this what did you think of them??
Winston liked them but they are non adjustable .....Avo's are 70 quid more.....
got avo coilovers on the valver setup at the mo, im happy with them but would like to try something different....
s'up to you then personally I would like to have some sort of damping adjustment for 350 quid.....

KW
Got some old Avo coilovers on teh hybrid, and personally i think they are absoloute toss.....althoguh the fact that it has std shocks on teh rear mgiht be somethign to do with it.
Been looking at H&R coilovers but can't find out if they are adjustable or not?
Other option seems to be KW ones....£620+vat-10% from tweeks
leda
deffo ....but are they really twice as good as avos :-k as they cost twice as much!
AVOs......
toss......but then the ones on mine are old old ones, they dent the bonnet like GAZ ones lol, guess it depends what suits your driving dstyle, i liek the suspension rock solid lol, none of this pussy bouncing shite
why bother with suspension lunner just ride the bump stops! lol Avo's are good yours are fooked and you've got stn don the back lol It's bound to be shite
Might just widetrack it and go for KW or H&R's(if H&R's are adjustable)
AVOs......

seems urs have been badly fitted then. iv never heard of avos denting the bonnet.....or any other make other than gaz tbh.
the avos can be rock hard......which mine are on at the mo, nodding dog syndrome on evry journey.......or they can be set softer than oe.
if urs are a mix n match, old fukt fronts, with std old fukt rears.....then its bound to be shit....or are u just gettin the excuses ready for when u get trounced on track?? ;)
LOL, they are set as hard as they will go, tempted to buy uprated dampers for the rear, and then if that doesn't sort it i can get varient 2 KW coilovers from teh front only, or buy a H&R full kit and flog the fronts and rears
H&R are not adjustable
Check this (http://www.sandtler.de/inhalt_index.htm) for pricing
Was trying to work that out, screw H&R then lol
The local dealer told me tha since AVO was sold, a few years ago,
the quality has being getting worse and worse...
Could anyone comment on that :?:
iv heard this also.
but i bought mine a couple years ago...never had any probs up to now.

I was told that happened to Leda. Gaz now have the top bod that used to be at Leda and supposedly have improved since then, while Leda have fallen away.
if the bonnet is dented with AVO then theres something wrong as mine was no-were near the bonnet!
as 2live says they can be set to harder or softer then OE but im more then happy with new OE modded set up!
i drive on ledas think there better than the rest. plus they rebuild them plus the build quality is just the best. used so many types on all sorts of motors. think leda are the best in the buisness. paid 660 for mine. also there the only kit that makes the 18,s feel like 16,s again. also i know what every one thinks of 18,s but as i have a maxi kit there needed to fill the arches. also i need the extra width.
