OK, I'm thinking about getting a cooler for my valver. The oil usually sits at 100C once warmed up and cruising around. However, it can go up near to 120C when giving it some beans.

I know the standard clocks and sensors aren't all they are cracked up to be but I would like it for peice of mind, especially with summer around the corner (not that you would know with this weather :? )

So, is it just a sandwich plate, pipes and cooler, or are there any water hoses that need attaching to them? Plus, where does the actual cooler sit?

And how much am I looking at paying for one?

Cheers

yup, it should be up to full temp, so 80deg upwards

get a rad off ebay, and a renault sandwich plate from Raldes...these bits only cost me about £40...then i bought hose from local motorfactors

I have a non-stat cooler and sandwhich plate from my old 205 GTi.......... could this be made to fit or are the threads on the coolers different?

the rad you will defo be able to use, the sandwich plate you will just have to see if it fits the engine and the filter fits on it....off the top of my head i think its the same...just check tho.
even if the threads on the cooler are different to the plate, juts use different ends on your hoses

Does 80deg + oil sorta burn when it runs down your hand as you are undoing the drain plug

TBH unless you're tracking it a lot I can't see that it's worth it getting an oil cooler.

Getting a fresh cooling system will help keep temps down. Certainly has on mine. Dropped from 120-140 on the m-way to 100-120.

I have a coller sat in my room, will fit it if necessary, just need stat and hoses

worth it imo if you are tracking it. need to get a sandwich plate with a stat on it that opens at like 90 or 100 deg.

then it is only functional on track days.
