View Full Version : Volvo gearbox in a clio???
My mate is a master technician at volvo, and he reckons the renault/volvo parts are interchangable, like gearboxes for instance.
Is this true? He says the casings on the 440 are the same as mine. It may be different ratios, but he thinks they are the same.
Can anyone confirm?
yes i can :) and yes it will fit fine :D good for 140 if u have the power! 8)
Yup volvo used the F3P (RSi) engine and turboed it for the 440 turbo

You have to swap the bellhousing if you're gonna do it which means taking the box to bits. It's the same as the 8v gearboxes which have the bellhousing cut at an angle half way down and a bar going through the gap.
I ran mine for a couple of months with one without changing the bellhousing and it seemed fine, though it means theres only 4 bolts holding box to engine so it could cause future damage.
See ya
Matt
