View Full Version : Front hubs are all mk1 clio hubs the same?
basicly i've got a sheered bolt that just wont come out, so i need a new hub passenger side. Will any clio hub fit or is is 16v specific? Clio 1.8 16v btw.
Cheers Paul.

do you want to replace the whole hub carrier and hub assembly with bearing in OR just the hub plate which the wheel bolts too ?
If you want the whole assembly then you'll need ones with a 54mm spacing between the centres on the strut bolts (if that makes sense)
I'm not too sure on the hub plate, they may specific aswell because of the difference in the bearings used on the 2 different hubs.
Basically try and find another 16v or williams hub and you can't go wrong or try and find a lower model car with a 54mm spacing in the strut holes.
All clio hubs you will find are the same size....R19 items are also the same as are (i think) R5 items so you've plently to choose from.
Chris H has shown me a different sized one before but that was off a 19 and he said they were pretty rare to find so i wouldn't worry about it. You'd spot it a mile off tho...
thought the sixteen valves and williams had bigger bearings and there where two different bolt spacings

learn something new everyday :D
thats just the hub tho, the carriers vary
Yes but just by strut hole spacing....they're still the same basic shape
yes but if he looking for one from a scrap yard he will want one with the right spacing for what ever strut leg he has got and with the right hole to take the larger 16v wheel bearing
bascily i just want to get the whole unit with bearing etc
