Those solid metal pipes. Do they contain fluid or wires? I always assumed fluid.

But then the brake lines themselves carry the fluid.

I thought so. Bloody colleague disagreeing with me!

So when you disconnect them to remove the caliper how do you stop fluid pissing everywhere?

u can either use a hose clamp, or put a bag over the resovior top with laggy band round it to stop fluid running out so quick or use a nut with somesort of blocked off end on it, i used to have a nut which had a old tyre valve cut up and wedged in which worked perfect, but if u are taking the caliper off u will want to loosen the hose fitment to the solid pipe on the inner wing because if u dont get its 100% back in place u can twist the hose

btw the abs sensors on the front work off the driveshafts as they have toothed rings on them and the sensor is fitted to hub, on the rear the toothed rings are on the back of the discs, all have cables running to them etc
