ahh...sunroof problems! nitemare!

Its an arse to do...depending what type of sunroof you have.

It involves taking the headlining out, unbolting the sunroof, removing it, putting silicon in the seal before putting it back on, bolt it up tight and pray for no more second showers in the mornings!

i use vaselene (sp) on the glass to rubber seals to keep them tight and leak proof.

look at northys quide. its a good un!

lol yeah cos they are irresistable!

The sunroof thing is a pain it annoys everyone who owns a clio.

An easier thing to try is to put some socks or something up into the roof to soak up the water before it runs down and hits you in the face when you go round a corner. Crude i know, but it does work :D

Otherwise get one of us to re-silicon the sunroof lining or seal up the aerial when you come to FCS?

or just seal it shut till the summer with silicone sealant, thats what i did on me old 1.4! altho the raincoat idea has promise!!

youll have to take the sunroof out, it leaks between the roof and the sun roof black frame. i did mine about 2/3 weeks ago. ..... i will never do it again even if it leaks

Sounds silly, but have you checked the sunroof is down properly and seated well? i had a leak but it was because the roof wasnt down properly.

09-03-2006, 19:29
yep mine started leaking yesterday but its not coming from teh sun roof, its coming out of where the interior light is and the electric sunroof switch, gettin abit worried now coz i pulled a part off to have a look and all the wires were swimming in water!! would the sunroof leak be able to get in there or would it be the aereal

Jamie.
09-03-2006, 19:33
if its coming through there dan it will be the areial. as i have had multiple leaks with mine and found that the ariel was the cause on one occasion and the leak came from same place as urs.

09-03-2006, 19:50
pop out the interior light. look up and you'll see the nut that that hold the ariel on. tighten it up more. if that doesnt work. then yup u need a new sunroof. but thats all mine was, same symptomns

Justin..
09-03-2006, 19:51
you dont need a new sunroof if it leaks. you just gotta seal it properly instead of tryin to with tape like renualt did

sum numpty stood on the roof of my valver last week to get a cat out of a tree ( u can imagine my screams as i looked out the window an saw it happenin) one side of the roof is now dinted an causin the sun roof to leak, iv removed all the lining from inside an tried pushin the dints out but cant do it, any ideas? (apart from giving my neighbour a kicking)
also because of the water let in the sunroof now does not open ( presume water damage 2 wiring)
tc

will if your a cat lover then u wont like the fact that when i visit my parents their neighbours cat would sit on my bonnet and when id cum out the house it would run off across the car leaving scratches on my bonnet ( or would leave f*ckin paw marks just after id cleaned it) so one nite while visitin, the little twat was sat in the road so i went rite over the little f*cker! problem solved!
