im on the look out for a diesel run around at the moment, about £200 aswell! going to auctions 2moro.

cheapest seams to be mk3 fezza's but keep an eye out for rot around the sills, and the floor pan area.

306's are nice but usually a bit more

as for insurance, i cant adda second car on my policy with Greenlight, so i will have to take out another policy.

i have the mrs' diesel as well as the willy and the van, she always been on my ins till this year, 10+ years ncb....but most co.s wouldnt accept it. im ins. with norwich union, they quoted her 1300 for her ins, complained sayin she bin on my policy for 10+ years, and that i was ins by them,....'errrrr lemme go speak to the manager'......came back with a £300 price for same policy.

iv got a rover coupe as a runabout, it has the honda 1.6 16v engine and is spot on for a 2nd car!

very comfy, looks ok, sporty interior, seats etc. quite nippy for what it is as well! and hopefully reliable being the honda engine and suspensioned model!

anyway, insurance is £480 FC on the clio all mods declaired, and £400 FC on the coupe!

A lot of insurance companies will mirror your no claims discount over onto their policy! i know greenlight will!

Do you have to have both cars insured with the same company?

Is there any age limits?

*Sorry for the hijack - just interested!

Yeah that's what I thought, I'll ring my insurance Privilege and find out. Mate in work knows somebody selling an old Micra for £150, 70k on clock 9 months tax & MOT, owned by his dad for years, says it's spot on. Would be good to use as a run around.

Cheers for the info guys

Pisses me off, I pay £50 less on a Astra R plate 1.6 16v then I do on GRP 17 Williams, no NCD on 2nd cars is a killer.

You should talk with your insurance company, they should mirror your ncb on your second car, if they dont bin them and go with a company that will, it will save you money!!
