Right I have just bought a Mongoose system for my Willy 1, now when they have come to fit it the join at the top end (very technical) does not meet, the zorst seems to stick out meaning the two flanges do not sit tight, anyone else had this?

Secondly I think I am being naive, I said it must be right and where is the Cat, they said its on the downpipe, looking at the old zorst what ithought was the Cat they said was the silencer, would be located about where the front seats are?

So, is the 'silencer' indeed the Cat and the zorst would just fit from this back?????

That shows a de-cat fitted but gives you a rough idea, front of the car is to the right btw

Yeh thats the fella, bloody idiots they are, I knew the Cat couldn't be on the downpipe and had never heard of a silencer, this is a pic off a 1 or are they all the same?

Lunner

Yeah it will the mongoose will be a 'cat back' which is fronm the cat backwards, the cat will remain in place, or will have a de-0cat fitted in its place

Enid

My mongoose has a silencer after the cat.

Yeah on the centre section,

Enid

Yep.

It's blowing again though, keeps blowing from the cat joint, like it keeps coming loose.

If my dogbone mount is worn would this cause extra strain on the cat/centre section join due to the engine rocking back and forth?

Lunner

Yup, make sure they seal it with exhaust putty too

Enid

I've screwed it back together soooo many times now, how hard is it too change the dogbone mount i.e. could you train a chimp to do it?
