Going home this weekend to start the lightening work on the car. The first stage is stripping everything, and I mean everything out of the interior bar the dashboard as I need that at the moment.

I'm then going to remove the wiper motor and lock from the bootlid, weld the holes up, then cut all the framework out from it. Whatever bits of framework are left i'm going to drill. I'm then going to make some small brakets so that the bootlid will be held shut by some bonnet pins from the inside. Depending on the time taken I will also start on the doors.

Also Martin how much were your poly windows?

Because I want to. Cheers Martin, i'm not sure whether to buy them ready made or make some myself. What thickness are they by any chance?

tbh the only that might be a bit tricky is the rear screen the others look easy enough to make not sure on thickness....looks like the same stuff from design technology in school! lol

Thats 2mm acrylic, we sell that at work 4'x2' sheet for £9, but its too brittle for windows i woudl ahve thought, and scratches easily

I was thinking of using the 3mm (2.5mx1.5m) sheets of plastic they use for conservatory windows.
