by the way its a 1.8 16v, i was driving when the cd player whent on, the lights whent dim, like the battery was goin dead, then it was ok for a few dyas, did it again, now when you try and start it, it just buzzing really loud instead and the rev counter jumps up and down?? any ideas cus iam stuck!!

sounds like your alternator is nearly dead not holding charge.maybe?

this might sound very strange, but take the cover off the relay box next to the battery, blow in it, then try........lol

once had a similar problem and thats what fixed mine

make sure your battery clamps are on tight aswell

does it turn over or not ?

but the batterys not dead, it just wont start, and wouldnt the battery light be on if it was alternator?? i dont think its the starter cus it wouldnt cut out if starter was gone would it?? what about battery?? and were do i blow??

it cant be buzzing that loud, the starter motor is near the bulkhead surely you could hear it if it was

i think the batteries knackered, and there isnt enough power in it to engage the solenoid on the starter, thats whats making the buzzing noise, ill try a new battery on it tomorrow!!

Don't change the battery just yet. Try charging the battery offline and see if it holds charge. It might be an alternator problem, and did not charge the battery properly the last time you were driving. Causing the battery to be drained when you start it up again.

i dont know what to do, ive done a alternator on 1 of these before, but awhat are the starters like to do?? i think its the starter solenoid now, been listening to it again this morning, if i put a spare battery on it then ill no because the symptoms wont change will they??
