Tests on the engine to ascertain what is wrong

what tests can be perfomed to ascertain what part of me engine is not performing right?

i know the top half is compression test but what about the bottom half?

or is it as gay as having to strip it down and having a look?

it needs to be listened to by someone that has a "million dollar ear" to assertain what is likely wrong. it will then need to be stripped/inspected (going on your description, sounds like bottom end problems). like i said, i cant say without hearing it in person....


compression test isnt really any good for you right now...
