View Full Version : Camber bolts (FAO: anyone with FK coilovers please!)
Ello :)
I've just had FK coilovers fitted today on my Mk1 phase 3 but the camber needs adjustment.
Where can i order some camber adjusting bolts? (other than K-Tec)
cheers
I had the impression that the holes on those were wide,
so you can adjust it directly without camberbolts.
That's not the case then?
On MK2's it is teh case. You have a certain amount of Camber adjustment but the MK1 coilovers as fitted to my Valver cause you to run at too much negative camber, i.e. between 2.5 and 3.5 degrees.
Camber bolts can be got from many places, mine were from Supertracker.
Just get a file and elongate one of the hub to strut bolt holes and adjust it that way, its free :)
^i don't like the idea of butchering my new coilovers!
Here's a pic.

Its not butchering them lol, just modifying them slightly
Other option is to elongate the holes on teh lower ball joint, where it bolts to the wishbine, and move that in to reduce camber
you can get them from your local Motor World mate
we deal with H&R who make them......if the people in your local one say they dont, they dont know what they are talking about, we do
Eibach now make em aswell mate, so Demon Tweeks will do those ones
I have K-tec ones on my Coilies, just need to get mine set-up properly now

Is the camber correct with the supertracker bolts on your FKs?
I'm running about 2 degrees negative camber, it should 1.5 i think.
I ended up buying the K-Tec ones  and they did **** all

Hmm this is a worry as i have the same to go on my Turbo when its finished.
i notoced that you can ajust it on the acctual strut, i take it you tried that yes?
dave
if it is running 2degree of camber u should see any real bad affects on the tyres, i run 1.08 degree at the moment and will be increasing it, btw std is 0.4 degree ish

Well i presume the mechanic who fitted them tried that :?
He said that elongating the holes was one option! as lunner mentioned above but he didn't want to attempt that himself.
I'm going to take them to another garage.
