I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask.

Any good brit gangster movie to recommend? Just watched Layer Cake and Formula51 and quite enjoyed them. I know there is lock, stock and snatch, anything else that is witty and violent? Cheers :)

circus - funny and gangster type
good film, made me laugh. Got some good actors in inc Eddie Lizzard [i know what ur thinking how can he be in a gangster movie but believe me, watch it, it's a good crack]

Love, Honour & Obey....class film not many people I know have seen it but is a really good movie.

Essex Boys is also good .

sexy beast is good. not witty, but a good 'british' film.

chopper is good, witty and violent. but not british.

and then theres repo man, witty, but not british, and not about gangsters. but i think its a good film.

and finally theres debbie does dallas. not british, not witty, not gangsters, but it has its moments.

face.....i think thats wot its called..........bout a bank robbery, has the guy off 2 point 4 children in it, and a shitloada other well known actors lol....not seen it for a few years like...gets a bit gruesome at the end.

also not to forget "Green Street" and then there's the new one, "The Business" with Danny Dyer... both awesome films, although after Green Street tell me how shocking that guys southern accent is... made me piss...

Has got to be witty and some violence for me, if I am going to watch a brit gangster movie. If it's just a violent gangster movie, IMHO, Hong Kong has cornered that market.

BTW, in Formula51, was Emily Mortimer's Liverpool accent completely off? Her american was good though. Skinniest assasain ever :)

Not as high profile but a good film none the less

Gangster No1. Cracking film..decent acting and pretty vioelnt (especially when he kills a gang boss....very nasty

the 2 below are more of your nightlife/clubbing films but dead funny!
