Rev Counter........now dead?

Used the car last night, rev counter works prefectly as you would expect it to.

Turned the car on this morning, and the needle doesnt even move at all. What are the possible problems?

The car works as normal aswell, just the rev counter not reading anything.

Check teh connections ont eh back of the dials, tehre is a 2 pin plug with 2 wires goign to it that controls the rev counter

I found out that if i give it a few knocks it kicks into life eventually.

on other dials the two pin plug is for the oil level gauge. I don't see how a valver is different as it uses the same dash loom

That 2 pin plug doesn't actually have anywhere to plug into the back of the 16v dials, its obsolete and taped up OE. its the long strip behind the rev counter that you want to check/clean up. if that fails try another set of dials as the rev counter can just die for no reason

Ahh rightm, when i got my RT dials i plugged that in extra and it worked
