What has been everyone's experiences of varying makes of plugs?

I've used NGK standards which were fine and cheap, shelled out £20 on some champion EON's which were the biggest waste of money ever.

Was looking at some Bosch super 4's but they are pretty expensive. Found some ACDelco plugs on ebay for cheap but never heard of them? Claim to be OE standard.

So whats recommended and what's not?

i get on with them.

Made well, they are priced right, their heat ranges are wide.

Never had a problem with them.

Stick with NGK's

Had no problems and havn't heard any reliablity issues like a few other plugs

if i remember rightly ac delco used to be the standard fitment on vauxhalls back in the 70s hc vivas etc

am runnin NKG seem good enuf to me, aint gonna make too much difference without like 400bhp anyway is it?! :P

Used Champion Eons for ages and never had any problems. Probably can be got for normal NGK prices too. Got some Denso Iridiums to try next.

i have just put some EON's in mine and im not that inpressed, i thought the NGKS that came out were better tbh

iv just swoped from reno to NGKs....seems to be ok so far :)

just what i were thinkin martin mate, like i said aint it only really big horsepower where u cud tell? pack of swan wud spark the f7 engines gud enuf!! :lol:

im using citroen picasso modded ones excactly the same as ngk but about 3mm longer and find the engine runs perfectly much better than normal ngk's some thing to do with lower compression because the plug takes up more room .. dunno thought id try it 1 day and it worked a treat :) plus i got them FREE from work ..shh dont tell parts bod !!:)

gonna try Bosch Super Plus plugs from euro. £2 a pop using precious metals in their construction aparantly so i'll see if it makes the car run better.

Do you not just need a plug that operates well under a large-ish temp range. I was told by my local factors that NGK were what was recommended by their parts book for the williams. Not expensive, and do the job fine.

I agree with martin....how can you tell the difference in performance?? You can tell if some are shitty/need a change, but not performance wise! :roll:

i cant tell any performance diff just how smooth the car is cold sometimes tbh.

used champion plugs, £20 is a rip off, i get them a bit cheaper. Never had probs with them, these are thwe two pronged jobs!

Many years ago I did a spark plug test on our engine dyno for a Fast Car feature on the 16v Clio engine. The results of many different makes of plug we all within 2bhp of each other apart from splitfires which were 4bhp down. Basicly go with a good plug you are happy with whichever you fit there going to be better than a crusty old set.
