My car idles fine when its stood still but when i pull up at lights or something and pull the clutch in before it drops to 500rpm and then when i stop it corrects its self. Its a pain when i pull in at work because i have to turn the car in as im stopping and it stalls because the PAS is sapping all the power when i turn.
anyone know which sensor it is and how easy it is to sort?
Cheers :P

use the accelerator a bit more?
Clean your ISCV, or stepper motor as teh AA refer to it
its not a stepper motor on a valver
a stepper motor looks like this

the one on the valver is a valve

Just thouhght about it lol. Is it idle speed control valve?
Where is it?
yup it is mate, if you look on ur inlet manifold near the throttle body there is a black plastic pipe with a rubber hose on it, follow that and the ISCV is connected to it, the other pipe goes into the back of the airbox

Smack it with a big hammer :D
lol, you dont clean the connection mate, you take the thing out itself and clean the inside of it with carb cleaner
:)

lol oh right  I was thinking that actually, wondered if it came apart lol. Will have another look tomorrow lol
it doesnt come apart.......you get it out and spray carb cleaner inside one of the tubes that the rubber hoses connect to
it looks like this, only this is upside down

8) Will wd-40 do? I dont have any carb cleaner
Nope, won't work as well, and carb cleaner is very volatile, wd-40 isn't
im having the same problem but mines a 1.2, should i try the same thing? or is there ect sensors that may need changing
if its a 1.2 then its likely to be the stepper motor, get it replaced but might be worth trying one off a low mileage one first to make sure
cheers buddy! any ideas on the cost of a stepper motor
