even the lightest tint on the market on the front sides will find you with an illegal amount of light coming through the front sides

i found this out the other week, £30 fine

light smoke is still legal for the front 2 windows.... insurers wont insure u if its ne darker than that...

no its not, direct from the mouth of pc plod last week who gave me a £30 fine

NO film on the market, no matter how 'light' it says it is, is legal

clear glass only lets in 86% light, Renault windows are tinted slightly as standard.........ANY film over the top of it and your below 70% light and £30 fine

mine are VERY light, mine came up at 35% light

I was metered at 65% by the local vehicle test people few days ago. I think it's going to be very tough getting 70% transmission or more on the clio with any tinted films.

The specification for the film I use is: 77% visible light transmission & 77%(IR) 98%(uv) rejection. It's an almost clear film made for rejecting heat/uv rather than visible light.

the 2 fronts may need to be discarded unless they pass tintman... some tool traffic officers use to measure light transmisison...
