Oh and i'm probably keeping the silver willys unless I get a good offer.

Its filthy - needs a damn good clean by the way, and the door cards need putting back on with all relevant bits...

Daz.
14-02-2006, 16:22
oh yeh forgot to add if you look at the bottom picture the wings are smooth the indicators are where the 16v usually is - they're the new audi indicators - nice little mod - if done correctly

Andyvalver
14-02-2006, 16:23
So why are you selling? :? You just spent loads on it :?

Daz.
14-02-2006, 16:28
Manufacturer RENAULT
Model CLIO
Body type 3 DOOR HATCHBACK
Colour RED
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 3
Last owner change 13 August 2004

I bought this car in august 2003 but was registered in my dads name for the first year as I couldn't afford my own insurance hence the change in 2004 if you look at the log book it states my dad as the previous owner - i.e its only had 3 owners.

Daz.
14-02-2006, 16:33
So why are you selling? :? You just spent loads on it :?

I wanted a nice original valver with 2 subtle mods I thought would enhance the car but its put me well off it - The roof I thought would be like a willy but somehow doesn't seem right and I thought i'd like the indicators, i do, but its still now how I imagined...

BUYING A WILLY 8)

Its gonna be a minter than mint one though - I don't want to have to touch a thing!

see you in 6 months when I can afford it lol

J o n
14-02-2006, 17:40
no offense but i'd be very worried as to why someone is selling a car they just got back from the bodyshop, not hiding anything?

(sorry, just asking as i'm sure this is what anyone else with a brain would be thinking, not trying to be a twat)

Daz.
14-02-2006, 17:51
No offence taken old son but if you read all of my messages you can tell that its not exactly great!

If anyone wants a non-dented non-rusted roofless valver as a project then step right up - if your after a decent example or an even half arsed effort then run away now!

Anyone who knows me knows of my car and how mint it is bar the little bob of rust near the door... well it was

northy
14-02-2006, 18:00
not going to much into it daz, but if your not happy then why should you suffer as a result.

get the car stripped. the shell shot blasted, get a coach builder to replace the roof and repaint it.

Then bill the original garage.

Garages have insurance to cover them against stuff like this.

Or do what i did when i had work done at a paint shop. Do not PAY THEM !

J o n
14-02-2006, 18:02
Daz it sounds like whoever did the work is taking the piss, are they willing to sort it out at all?

when you pay for something it's all about meeting your expectations, so the question is did the people that did it say they would meet these? I'd imagine they did, in which case they are financially obliged to get it sorted or reimburse (sp?) you.

Daz.
14-02-2006, 18:18
Your right mate, but its half my fault too, I skimped out - the work done should have cost more - even if it was put perfect right now i'd still not be happy the feelings gone for it totally, the easiest and happiest thing for me right now is to start again - which is what i'm doing - I could rant and rave like a good un - trust me I can! i'm just not bothered anymore...

15-02-2006, 12:25
it didnt turn out the way he imagined it to, he wanted it to have the sleak lines that the williams 1 has with no sunroof etc but it didnt turn out like that

he said hes lost all interest and love for it now and just wants to move onto a williams 8)

J o n
15-02-2006, 13:46
Daz, look into a Cup race car, they usually come with everything you need to get them road legal almost, only ever minor changes, but you get spare wheels (usually at least a full set) and slicks, plus the engine has usually been rebuilt as well as the box... oh and they go rate fast too i'm told... although on a straight I'd like to see what the pink thing can do

TriO`
15-02-2006, 14:09
I was speaking to arronc off cs who owns an ex cup racer. (the chap i bought my valver off) and he says that they're not actually that rapid and that it's just the handling that gives them so much advantage on track. supposed to be amazing fun to drive.

How often do they actually come up for sale ? only ever heard of his, the pink beast and one other.

Martin
15-02-2006, 15:32

Mate you must be insaine or have a few quid in the bank to do that.

As Willy Lover said, i'm sure someone on here would have given you a couple of hundred quid for it. Worth it for the engine/box/interior/dash etc alone.

Nice profit for Winston :)

I really don't!

I'm actually pretty damn skint - but insurance was due very soon and i'd spent all this money on new bits for it - then I see it!

When I first asked for £850 i'd only really seen a quarter of the mess it was - it was dark when I get home in it then I had to go to London all week (apologies for the lack of response, I'm mad busy with work and never here at the mo!).

When I saw it in daylight I died - the interior was ****ed, dust everywhere - no care had been taken inside - infact half the interior was in the boot - there were big holes in the seats where no-one had bothered covering up the seats - I had sanding dust actually inside the clocks! when you set off you couldn't see it was just a mist!

It leaked - windows hadn't been put in properly, the new indicator points were a joke - wires just lashed through the doors - two weeks tops and it would have frayed - get this, rust? still there! only havce rid of lol, no dent I asked to be removed had been done properly - you could still see the marks on the wings were the original indicators where - the list is endless believe me!

I'm actually gutted, I loved that car and it just ruined it for me, hence the reason I was desperate to get rid - i've took bits off ten times better cars than the one I got back, so at the end of the day who would in there right mind give me money for it?! It would have looked better if I had set fire to it..

At the end of the day when I've moved house next couple of weeks i'll collect all the good bits I kept I know people want and pay good money for and sell on all the brand new bits I bought too - I don't want to give out a list now as theres no way I can post or even reply to questions at the moment!

Thank god he didn't muller the alloys - polished lip needs sprucing and they need a damn good clean but I reckon they should come up good :D

Watch this space

neilc
23-02-2006, 23:02
Just a shame it had come to that Daz.

we all live and learn from our mistakes. we our only human lol

did you take it up with the garage, I am sure you could have taken legal action and claimed for the cost of the car as a wright off.

but things can only get better :)

Scott-16v!
23-02-2006, 23:03
jeeeeeeesus, guess you wont be recommending twisted styling then matey, gutted for you :(
is it the willy route for you next then??

Clio_GTT
23-02-2006, 23:13

spose thats what happens when they spray in a barn

gutted for you mate

Aye!

I did hear good things about them though, thats what pisses me off!

I do want a seriously mint willy but in the time being I fancy ticking a box on my things to do list and buying a 5 GT Turbo

23-02-2006, 23:25

trust me mate you wouldn't!

it was shocking

1fast6
05-03-2006, 01:30
In that case, i don't understand why you don't go back to twisted styling and rip him a new one. Perhaps with a few friends and a baseball bat? lol

Seriously though, did you get a refund and damages for what was done or rather not done to the car?

Surely you didn't sign some kind of agreement that said:

"Twisted styling is a bodge company run by a dodgy f**ker who was born in a barn and subsequently now runs a 'bodyshop' out of it.

We will take no liability what so ever if we ruin your car by doing a piss poor job on it."

I have no idea why you seem not pissed off with the company...

Daz.
05-03-2006, 13:10
I am! you have no idea how ****ed off i was but I know it sounds stupid and it is but i'm happyish it happened - its made my mind up about it - even if that car had cpme back perfect to me I still don't think i'd be happy with it - I can't really explain it!

Tell you one thing though i'll be letting anyone and everyone know what a wank place twisted is!
