Had the car on the Clip at Nick Hills and it showed up a fault on the potentiometer.

Got 3 options

1, Get a secondhand throttle body and hope it works
2. Get a new pot from renno, and bodge it myself, the settings i mean, pot is about £100
3. Get it to nick hill/renno but be prepared for a big bill

What would you fellas do?

I think Nick should be able to supply and fit one for £100.
Call him and ask, 01530 273633.

Well Renno have just said they will set the values for £38

Wonder if its just the values that are wrong?

Wanna find the best option really, Nick Hill is a good 2 hours away.

I'll ring him now.

Just got back from Renault. LMAO should of seen their faces, there was about 6 of them initailly looking at the engine, one guy had the XR25 connected, they all had this worried confused face on.

Bloke came up to me and said its got a problem with the ecu, potentiometer and its idleing funny something is not right.

I said yeah its not standard, the cams are why it idles funny and the ECU has been remapped, I want you to fix the potentiometer problem.

I said check the values first before replacing the pot, he said you can't alter the values, I said err you can, he said no they come set on the throttle body, I said no check dialogys. Anyway about 15 mins on the PC he come back with a print out, with the values on it, weirdly they matched what was on the car, so he tried to clear the error off like Nick Hill did, that didn't work, he took the battery off for a few seconds, plugged it back in again and the pot problem had gone away? Gave it a few revs, didn't come back, so off I went 32 quid later for the diagnistics.

Only one guy at the place knew how to use the XR25 properly.

Anyway Renno fella said the XR25 said the car was running rich, he only said this after I had mentioned it thou, but its booked in at Waynes on monday to see if it actually is running rich :P

it says in the XR25 notes on Dialogys that it should be set to 10 but 8-13 is fine

maybe yours is only just a correct value mate
