Ok, so CARS - I've now got a 300 bhp boat  which needs towing around so i need to get a BIG car.. I'm thinking either a discovery v8i or a landcruiser....???
What are people's thoughts & recomendations ???? Don't know much about 4x4's

Ah, Janos ...
My uncle drags his nautique around with a ford pick up, which is cheap to run and insure etc and seems to take an impossible amount of punishment. basically an older version of this ....

Toyota's are also very reliable, if you recall top gear when they tried to destroy one and it kept coming back for more, even after sinking in the sea lol
but you might want to go for something like this, hehe

Hi mate, sounds like your enjoying yourself..... :D .....We fly out on 31st March to Sydney then get an internal flight to Cairns and pick up a camper van and start heading down....not to sure how we'll get on for time so we'll have to see if we make it down as far as Melbourne cause we need to get back to Syndey for the flight home.....that's if we'll want to go home
Will keep in touch.
father in laws jus moved to cairns.......took his discovery with him, cost him 8k to take it.......
toyotas are always usually reliable lol, land rovers are always going fukt, always need work lol.

Hello Mr O :)
Glad to hear things are going good down there. A 300bhp boat? Sounds awesome, but not quite a motorbike :P
Forget about a Discovery if you want something decent to drive on the road. They're one of the best off-roaders, but I still can't believe how horribe they are to drive...unless you can afford the brand new one.
I reckon what Mooseman says, summit like a Toyota Hilux...with some big wheels
An Aussie V8 ute would be my choice. :)
Here's a fairly popular car buyer's website in Aus.

Good to hear from you guys
Looks like I'll start looking for a hilux or maybe a 4runner if i can't afford a decent landcruiser... I really wanted to get a old holden v8 or a bike, but the boat has taken priority
Plus they're stupidly tight on speeding over here so it seems pointless having a fast car :( unless you're in the outback
Will keep you guys posted.....
