What actually happened to Plattsy? I dont know the full story!

I got caught doing 105 on the A1 2 weeks before my 2 years probabtionary period thing ran out.
I thought this would mean a 12 month ban and a retest (as within probabtionary 2 years)

In the end I got off scott free
I ignored the original NIP, and the 2nd NIP and the 3rd NIP and 14 months later am still waiting to hear from them (The offence has now timed out, so that was a close call)

If they had of caught up with me it would of been a 28 day ban maximum, a fine and I would NOT of had to do a retest.

The retest is only if you are banned due to 'totting' up, as in my case it would of been a straight ban there was no requirement for me to take a retest.

Hope this helps

were the NIPs recorded delivery (they usually are)

smokey

were the NIPs recorded delivery (they usually are)

No mate, were all sent 1st class in 'franked' envelopes.

I have had 2 other NIP's one before and one after and they too were only sent 1st class.

I believe it is all down to the constabulary how they send out the NIP's.

J o n
13-02-2006, 15:47
their fault then for being tight ****ers over delivery then... cant expect to collect fines if you can give people a good reason not to pay... like they never turned up

i got a summons through on a car i wa driving at 90mph on m1 when my old GTIR broke down.

no insurnace and speeing in excess of limit!
never bothered to swap insurnace from the pulsar to the 1.1 metro i was caught in.... how silly is that

looking at 6 points and 3 points respectfully

bad part is i already have 3 points from speed camera a year ago....

that make 12 points :(

= ban :(

anyone reckon i can blag it?

got to send the guilty forms off by post in next couple of days..

14-02-2006, 10:42
depends on circs really... like plattsy s mate, iv known ppl on 13 points and still driving, but then iv also known ppl lose theirs at 12, which is the legal limit of points b4 a ban.

its usually in extreme circs that ppl with 13 are let to keep their lisence, father of 20 kids, truck driver, will have to go on dole and start robbin money out the govt coffers to live, etc that manage to keep theirs

Gav
14-02-2006, 10:50
