I have heard that you dont get much gain from a panel filter, main benifit is you dont have to change them as often and they can be cleaned.
I wouldnt go with a IK as i noticed the heat loss on my 1.2 so on a F7 engine you would loose alot.

The Viper's a highly efficient way of parting idiots from money. Halfords do a carbon BMC/Viper clone for £70. None of 'em make any real difference though.

90% of people run panel filters, i run a ITG.
i tried a pipercros viper ik from ktec and it killed bottom end power. it was still suffering from the engine heat.
When you think about it a viper is just a posh airbox. its a box with a filter inside and a pipe supplying the air...exactly the same as an airbox apart from the noise it makes...

i just took the feed pipe off my box. loadsa soundage. not much loss on performance either :?

I had a green but found it would never seat right in the air box, you ended up squshing it in there more than anything!

ITG will be my next route...

pretty sure that pipe is connected to the arch liner and is a ballache to get off when the air box and battery are in place, the std air box is a good design, maybe the feed could be bettered with some ducting hose to a better place.

Justin..

i just left the pipe hanging there once off

Agreed u get heatsoak with IK, however, the filter is right behind the grille, so its not a major issue, beside u just cant beat that noise................................RAMAIR !!!!!!!!

I picked up a standard airbox for mine at the weekend to swap over for that god awful cone filter. Granted though, it does sound the tits on full chat

Order your ITG from motorsportworld.co.uk

I have no duct to my airbox as I got it off a scrapper and couldn't get the feed pipe off.
