Everyone else: c'mon folks - i said offers! :(

Not wanting a lot of money...just postage costs and a token amount for getting the stuff off to you...some of this stuff should be of use to people?

This gear will hit the wheelie bin by next weekend if not taken!

13-02-2006, 19:51
stevos_16valver - that'll do for me!

BRUN - what do you mean by the thing sat behind it? Its just everything that bolts onto the suspension turret? That plus the MAP sensor...say 12quid all in?

Both of you PM me for payment details (remember to say paypal or cheque) if its all ok...part you're buying as the PM title pls.

:)

In fact, BRUN here is a pic to clarify;

http://www.coded-solutions.com/car/d7power/DSC00267.JPG

and this is exactly whats included in the PAS removal gear;

http://www.coded-solutions.com/car/d7power/DSC00266.JPG

the 2 leftmost small bags replace 2 parts on the s/h bracket i got as i thought the threads would knacked...better safe than sorry. New parts alone theres about 55quid sitting there...would like about 40 for this gear as its worth it and cheaper than you'll get elsewhere (inc bondy)

Ok, i'll keep it for you.

Aye, you'll need the shorter AUX belt if you're replacing it. Can't check exactly for you atm as Ramsey's kitchen nightmares is on but you'll get a renault part number off the guide i've got up on F7power for removing PAS. Alternatively, you're work will have one listed under a volvo 1.7 340

:)

BRUN
22-02-2006, 09:09
so mine doesnt replace the PAS pump with just a pulley, it removes it completely ?

u33db
22-02-2006, 10:08
Yes, exactly.

BRUN
22-02-2006, 19:31
the belt you got listed mate is a 5 rib........Clio uses a 6 rib, so that cant be the correct belt

i need to know what belt i need for my car !

u33db
22-02-2006, 19:41
Well thats the belt thats off the 1.7 engine and it uses the same alternator as a 16v...is the one thats on it (from bondy) a 6-rib? :?

Can't see it making any difference TBH...it'll still go on and work fine.

In any case why are you changing it...its only a year and a bit old! :?

BRUN
22-02-2006, 19:59
the one on my car im sure is a 6 rib

the Renault part number you listed is a 5 rib, the one on the Volvo 340 1.7 8v is a 5 rib

the one for the Clio is a 6 rib and so is the alternator pulley.......

a 5 rib wont fit properly, its not wide enough

BRUN
22-02-2006, 20:02
the alternator for the Volvo is a 60 amp, the one for the Clio is a 70 amp

the 'uprated' one as fitted to the 2.0 16v Megane with air con is more, about 100 amp, and uses a 6 rib belt

they dont use the same alt

u33db
22-02-2006, 21:07
Rating of the alternators makes no difference...their pulley diameters will be the same beit 16v, megane (yours) or 1.7.

The only issue here is the 5 rib point.

Its not a problem IMO...your car (aside from the crank aux pulley ribbing and alternator pulley ribbing) is identical to the 1.7 setup which what the kit is taken from.

A 6 rib belt would be nice if you can work out which one it is but not esential...the 5 rib will locate fine into the crank aux pulley and will be under no more stress than it would be in its natural environment.

It might be worth speaking to winston and seeing if he still has bondy number? If not just take the 5 rib belt and try and match it length wise off the shelf with a 6 rib one at work...if your car actually has a 6 rib one, bondy likely took it from another french car.

:)

BRUN
22-02-2006, 21:26
mine IS a 6 rib

however, if all these parts on my car are the same as what your selling, basically if i get a belt thats the same length as the one you have, but a 6 rib, it should be perfect and fit all the pulleys and alternator perfectly

u33db
22-02-2006, 21:31
Aye mate - go for it.

Is there not any markings on your belt that might give a clue...IIRC it was made by 'Gates' but i canna remember a part number being on it...?

BRUN
22-02-2006, 21:39
it is a Gates belt, doesnt seem to be a part number on it though

BRUN
23-02-2006, 12:06

I'll weigh it when i get home then get you a price...IIRC its no more than 2kg so i'd guess about 4/5quid via std parcels...as i said, i'll get a price m8.
