Ive got my willy 3 running really sweet, have spent more than i should have on it - but i knew that before i started.

so far (wont put prices incase the wife sees)

new tailgate and respray
bonnet and n/s arch rust/respray.
solenoid in boot.
clutch
cambelt
exhaust manifold re-weld.
new exhaust front pipe.
new pas pump
new wiper blades, oil filter and change

now, ive got the following to do, to tidy it up.

rust under drivers door
bumper needs respray
battery not keeping charge for more than 3 days
manifold heat shield
low temp rad
larger cooling fan

and, ive got the following planned once its minted.

i'd post up a list of thing's i've replaced since I have owned the car... but 2 years is a long time and £7k of expense is quite a big list... I dont think i'd have time to write it or you guys time and incling to read it! lol

4 years ownership.

de-catted it, which then blew the baffles out the ctr silencer, so s/s zorst

1 spring broke, so replaced with AVO coilovers and adj shox at the rear

clutch went, so built a megane 2.0 up using willy head etc, added 260 cams, and a remap, an a few other bits


cams fukt up, smashing the head also, so am now running megan btm end, willy box, manifolds, std valver head with std willy cams fitted and a remapped ecu

could do witha front end respray due to all the stonechips, but i think wots the point?? its only gunna get full of stonechips again....other than that its pretty mint.

I have a shite memory so unless I got the file out I really couldn't write the full list of things done so here's a summary.

60% new bodywork (front, side and rear, and lots of trim)
A few bits of welding to the sills
Alternator
PAS pump
Whole new cooling system
2 windscreens
other ancillaries.

To do:

Wait for gearbox to die (synchros are going in 2nd) then get new box and new release bearing

Get a new heater matrix
Get a new front bumper as the 2nd hand replacement is getting more fooked by the day.

First job is to get teh PAS fluid drained and re-filled after I tinkered and buggered it up again. :oops: Will get some Forte PAS treatment thrown in as well.

Also forgot to add that the scuttle panel really needs welding otherwise I'll keep on going through windscreens. :roll:

i'll just keep it simple by saying new everything bar Williams head, as thats the only part not to be replaced now... so that will break soon no doubt... lol

had the car 8 months now and replaced cam belt, water pump, SS exhaust with de-cat, new gear box , clutch, and batery and a new bonnet ....think thats it....

still need to refurb alloys, respray bonnet again, fix wing mirror, refurb rocker cover.....4 now anyway

Had mine about 3 weeks now. Pretty much bought it blind trusting the previous owner on his opinion of the car , a few emails but also backed up by the fact that he had driven the car down to hillpower from edinburgh, got the train back and picked it up 2 weeks later along with a hefty service bill - he sounded like the kind of fella I like buying cars off ! My one way flight to scotland to pick it up could have gone extremely pear shaped though but it didn’t.

As it stands the bodywork is mint as he had a full respray, the interior is mint and also has a decent sound system in,the engine is mint, a new clutch and cambelt, disks,pads,exhaust, filter and remap went on in the summer.

When I picked the car up the steering was out of sorts but he assured me it was always like that. I had no choice but to agree and bite the bullet. A week later and a new steering column has gone on. Also the de-cat has come off.

Plan is to learn the car for the next 3k miles till the next service and then decide its future. If it stays I would prob. Say

Hmm where to start:

- New side sills, being done as we speak, current ones are rotten.

- PAS pump need replacing it sounds terrible and will no doubt fail on me soon.

- Gearbox needs fixing/replacing mashed 2nd gear up a bit.

- Plety of chips and scrathces, needs a full respray when i have finished the mechanical stuff.

- Rust underneath rear seats needs rubbing and repainting.

- Sunroof needs rubbing down and repainting.

- Interior needs a bloody good clean, and i need to go to a scrappy and get some screws, half my car isnt screwed together at the mo.

- Seal the ariel, it leaks into the car.

- Refurbish alloys they are in a terrible state.

- Need rear windscreen spade connector putting on so i havent got a heated rear windscreen.

- Rear arches will need doing soon


What i have done so far:

- 2 New front tyre
- Rear pads fitted
- Replace bearing on suspension strut
- New rad fan loom
- New thermostat
- Various interior bulbs
- Replaced heater rheostat and multiplug.

ok had mine a year, bodywork mint, engine sweet. got her serviced just after i bought it, upgraded speakers/headunit. one new wheelbearing. then mot failed on broken front springs and front flexi hoses perished so replaced with braided hoses all round and new avo springs at front and had rear lowered 30mm to match front. car already had new tyres all round, hillpower stage 1 conversion and full magnex so no other mods needed doing, yet. thinking of selling to get a bigger car (scooby/cossie) but if i keep it plans are to have cams/pulleys and remap and wheel refurb as couple of wheels starting to scab a bit on the polished lip :evil: been a great car, never let me down, would be very sad to see her go. :(

lol! well it had a new set when i bought the car! plus she only gets used weekends! but must admit the front are worn and will get a new pair of fronts after tracktime at FCS in may! :D
