looks sexy!

your getting me excited about my build now!

nice route to go down with the complete F7R - 710!

Most folk opt to use just the bottom end and keep with the 1.8 head. megane head is much better! how are you getting around the dizzy issues?

Cheers guys has taken me a while only been doing about 1 night a week on it.and i cannot wait to get it running. stew dizzy isnt to bad to sort out. A hole at the end head needs to be opened out so the distributor can locate on the exhaust cam. i opted for the megane head as it has bigger valves than the f7p and has a better port shape/size. so should give more torque/power

any more pics or details of the distribution modifications you made mate?

Would be handy for us so we can just pick up a megane engine and not separate the head n bottom end.

I think the pulleys are piper by the looks of things?
Bet you cant wait to get it in and give it a drive.

Pulleys are defo piper ones!

Is it not a bit of a mission using the complete meggy lump as the managment is different! Not for the faint hearted anyway!

Suppose it would be fine if ur butcheing the loom for an OMEX ECU or such like!

Good luck with it anyway, and get some pics/vids and RR graphs up when u get it running!

O btw...what cams is it running? i was looking at 276deg piper ones but some ppl have said they are too wild for just using the std bottom end up to about 7krpm. now gonna be using some AWT ones! 8)

yep theyre piper cams and vernier pulleys. will tryand get some pics of the distributor housing and any other bits that might help u. a similar engine has been built and ran by stan who sometimes comes on here so should all work if i put it together right lol. has anyone had any luck in finding out if theyre is a way to mount the megane gearbox as i fancy using that also?

engines in at last good few things left to do before it runs have to extend a couple of bits of the loom to reach the sensors and find a suitable ecu chip until i can afford a complete remap also need a new power steering pump if anyone has a good second hand or new one give me a shout

looking good!

like the black inlet - but it cant be good for inlet temps! black absorbing under bonnet temps!

gunner may be able to help you with a chip....depends which management you ended up going for?

Black is the best colour, as it radiates heat best, ehnce why the elements on the back of friges are black ;)

BRUN
11-03-2006, 01:45
yea but it does also absorb heat best, and since the inlet manifold isnt a radiator, a lighter colour might have been a better choice, but, it does look brilliant

Sam,

So will the engine run on 1800 management then, is it just better to get a 2.0ltr, i.e to gain more power?

If not will it do any harm running the 1800?

Cheers
Danny

just started it on 1.8 ecu to see if everything worked. it should be run on 2.0 map dont know if it will do any harm in long run but think u would definately loose power with it

Sam16v
04-04-2006, 21:57
well slight change of plans. I had good buy off ebay purchased a 1.8 clio 16v on full weber alpha managment fitted with throttle bodies, car also had koni adjustables, new heat shield full leather, etc, etc so the throttle bodies are going on the 2.0 megane engine in my car along with the ecu etc should be nice and quick.
